I'd love to be able to buy a Hughey cable, but OSE has been out of stock for a while, and the one seller on Ebay that has them only ships to the US. So as good as they are, if I can't buy one, I'll never know.

Southriverboats has them in stock. If OSE does not have it in stock these people sometimes do.Originally posted by Stinger9D9 View PostI'd love to be able to buy a Hughey cable, but OSE has been out of stock for a while, and the one seller on Ebay that has them only ships to the US. I checked their site. The only .150 assembled cable they have is 14" long - too short for the Motley Crew. They do have the cables and stub shafts unassembled, but that misses the point of how great Hughey assembles their cables if I have to (try and) assemble it myself.Originally posted by detox View PostSouthriverboats has them in stock. The longer prop shaft of the .187 cable is better (rides full length of strut bushing). I would use the stronger .187 cable with no teflon liner. OSE sells the non Hughey version, but still verygood quality.Originally posted by Stinger9D9 View PostI checked their site. The guy on Ebay sells to Canada. Just ask, I did and they are as good as Hughey. Doesn't mean I won't buy a Hughey, just these do in a pinch!!!Originally posted by Stinger9D9 View PostI'd love to be able to buy a Hughey cable, but OSE has been out of stock for a while, and the one seller on Ebay that has them only ships to the US. He even made me some right rotation .150 cables, just ask him.

All of the aftermarket .150 flex cable prop shafts are too short and do not ride the full length of strut bushing. The GrimRacer version looks ideal but is poor quality. Jeff Wohlt has made me custom .150 versions with longer prop shaft and these roll true on glass without any wobble.
I would Go with the stronger .187" cable and Etti collet. And Do Not Solder cable.

I got a Hyperformance cable last spring, piece of junk, it wasn't ground near round at the braze, you can't even fit it into a 3/16 stinger bushing! It's close to a 16th out.
Always had great luck with the pre assembled Hughey. If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

RUM RUNNERS HOBBIES has Hughey's in stock but you will need to add a drive dog. Double Check with Tim at JE products... I think those he is selling are, in fact, made by Hughey.Originally posted by ray schrauwen View Post

They look like Hughey cables. I don't think Ed H. is doing them anymore. Back in 2005 he was looking for someone to take the reigns but, he found few people had the skill to do cables, Perhaps Tim from JE is now the Ed Hughey stand in or replacement.
Anyway, Tim's cables are very well made.

They seem to be able to get them made and they are the welded type. Got one about a month ago no problem...I let the dogs out...

I contacted them and they are willing to ship to Canada for a little extra shipping so 2 new flex shafts are on the way.
