when I run bullets (most boats do these days), I plug in one wire, follow everything, batt to esc, to motor, check radio, then plug in. Check all functions are normal before putting in the water, then you should be fine.

The other day I paralleled a 4S pack and 2x 3S packs by mistake, I was doing 4S2P and thought they were 2S each.
I was lucky I noticed them getting warm before taping the hatch and disconnected everything after few seconds, the 4S pack was at 18v (4.5 each cell) and the 3S packs had each cell at 3.5v.
All packs were fine after slowly discharging/charging, no swelling occured. But boys that was close.
We are just too excited to run our boats some time...

Don't most esc's have over 75000 rpm limit? if so.. HOW FAST WERE YOU GOING?

i did this one time when i first got 4s packs in my e-maxx. i hooked it up as 8s to a a BK warrior esc and hacker maxx motor, i pulled the trigger and it started to shutter a little over half throttle well its because the esc hit its rpm limit. i mean i was playing with this thing for a good minute before i relized what was going on- i guess i was lucky the esc and motor ran fine afterwards

Believe ME, In the inside I was burning. But Anthony had a good event, and for a kid that doesn't normally like rc boating he seemed to have a renewed interest last week, so I didn't want to ruin the grove he was in.Originally posted by ron1950 View Poststeven took it better then i would have......guess that is cause he has good kids lol

No Y on those. I had bullets. In a rush to tape up, he just didnt use the parallel bullet connectors and plugged them in series.Originally posted by Darin Jordan View PostOUCH!
One thing that I do to all of my RTR boats is to take off the factory Y-Harness and install single contacts on the ESC instead. Makes it WAY less tempting to accidently hook them up in series this way!
Rum, I dont think its worth taking the chance. Ken has them at this point for disposal.

Wow! Took the packs out too! Have you checked them out, or is it obvious that they're ruined?

At the Nats I told my son Anthony was running a Aqua Motley Crew. He absolutely loves it. Normally he runs (2) 2s packs. Due to windy conditions, I told him to run (2) 4s packs in parallel in order to add weight to the boat. By mistake he plugged them in series and almost burnt the tent down! But thanks to my ultra fast speed and quick thinking I tossed the boat out of the pits and upside down into the sand, saving the day.
He was very bummed. I was too, since he took out two of my new Hyperion 4s packs.
But we live and learn.
A big thanks for Ron1950 for the Pics!
In all fairness to AquaCraft, this WAS USER ERROR!!!
He has already stripped the hull and cleaned it. Just needing a new esc and water tubing.Tags: None
