Twin struts and rudder mounting help needed

Ok, so my parts arrived for the apache and...

-how close should I mount the struts? -if I plan on using max. 65mm props is 70mm enough between struts? -so how close can props be to each other?

And rudder depht, I really want to mount it on the center ,but that forces the struts more apart(135mm between them .

if I do mount the rudder above them, then it´s is only about 30mm under the hull. If I mount it under the struts the rudder ends about 110mm under the hull and that is quite a lot I think.

Is the best option to offset the rudder(looks ugly that way but...)

struts as close as possible - some have even staggered the length to get them closer - just so they don't touch ain't no prob. I like the rudder directly in center and above the struts. Depends on how rough of water you wanna run. I had to lengthen the rudder on my Cyklon because it would spin out too easily, now it does real nice. Personally, I like longer rudder, and you can always trim if you want.

Thanks Jesse, these last pics the struts are 70mm apart and the rudders lower water intake is "under water" but the top intake hole is a tiny bit abowe, do you think it will still get water? -it is in the prop wash so it should?

This build is more scale then speed so if it tuns on a longer circle then race boats that´s fine, just that it turns is enough so this should work?

I guess that 5mm is enough clearence between props, the shafts cant wobble that much

distance apart looks good, and remember with the water pick up - the boat will ride bow up, yes? therefore, your upper pick up should be under water for sure.

Here is another link to a twin Apache build and the recommended spacing is 3.5" apart using 70 mm props!

Id think 70mm should be enough between the props, as long as those struts are pretty solid. I had some problems with my props hitting occasionally but my struts were longer i think and they were not too solid until i put a support rod in between them, what motors are you thinking about using?

obrien008, these are solid struts, much stronger then any stinger I´ve used.

I will start with turnigy t600 motors ,880kv with 6S each but most likely some day leo 5692 series will find their way in the hull.

Ya they look pretty solid im sure you wont have any problems.
Im actually looking to do a dual sniper with the 4082's.

A dual Apache with 5692's would be sooooo nasty
