609 is different stuff ita a medium strength retainer of 2290 psi, 603 is high strength retainer of 3260 psi. Thanks Martin.

I wonder why they don't bring the 603 into Australia. I asked at a couple of the Loctite stockists & neither of them could find it on the product lists in their computers. Dissappointing.

638 is the go , CBC bearings sells it here in OZ

638 has a stronger bond at 3625psi over 603 at 3260psi but 603 is more oil lolerant than 638. I have both & cant say ive had any problems or noticed any difference with either in what their doing. The main thing to do is to make sure both parts are clean before bonding, I use Loctite 7063 super clean spray. Martin.
