OK, well I guess copper translates to "copper & zinc" or more commonly known... brass. I don't know why they do these things to me...

Brass has 1/4 of the thermal conductivity of copper according to this chart...

Still using the heat pads, but even with brass (cooper/zinc) it will dissipate a good amount of heat. These will work. Brass is used for thermal dissipation in some commercial evaporators.

So, we'll try them.

Next round we'll try for aluminum. The mfr apologized and explained the chinese word for copper and brass are very similar.

Oh, he also stated very clearly, Hobby City does not warranty their ESC's, which the cost is lower for non-warranty products. Apparently I was paying for a manufacturers warranty.
So these ARE warranted for boat use. (given they are installed correctly, aren't over driven.. blah, blah blah.) Just send them to the MFR for replacement.

Just for giggles, I'll stock some of the $29, non warranted cheap FET version. We can all watch them fry together. But hey, it's fun wasting $36.

pretty good mosfets good for up to 8s actually.
am sure tho Suppo keeps them designated to 7s for longevity sake.
they should work out pretty dang good.

Fighter cat: I received my Suppo 200a ESC today and I'm very happy. Looks great and super fast shipping priority mail. I haven't cut off the heat shrink yet but it looks as though it maybe waterproofed with something. Any idea what it is and do you recommend doing more? The cooling plate is an added bonus as I was not expecting that or the tubes soldered to the interior plates!

got my 2 plated esc's yesterday and am very pleased.
will be installing the tubing and mounting the water plates this weekend or next week sometime. Will also set them up for the 6s and timing, ect for the project.

FYI- I have 4 of these left. They seem to be working well. If anyone else wants to experiment with one, let me know. They are 2-8s with reverse & BEC and plates installed in between the fet rows.

I also have two of the retarded ones still if anyone wants. (no LVC)
I'm dropping Suppo's ESC's entirely. They are just too annoying to deal with.

I'm anxious to see how the new 10s/150amp models do. For $100 that's just cool.

Yeah, it should have reverse and should be able to program with the tx to shut the reverse off. Out of the box it's auto config, auto calibrate w/reverse.

But... it's Suppo we're dealing with. So who knows what we actually received.
