Amen Jeff. Good stuff. Great inside dimension and like you said. Cheap. PetSmart has been my water cooling tubing supplier for the last couple of years. Its not 100% silicone but its got enough to work with the temps we see.

So is it better to use larger ID tubing than the rudder's diameter and lose the water pressure or use smaller ID to keep the water pressure flowing to the ESC and motor?

I don't think you'd be losing a lot of pressure, unless it's a huge difference.You might lose some pressure, but there's more volume of water passing through i bet.

There is a lot of info here about cooling and a lot of different opinions too.
If you need cooling then 1 pickup should be fine. Run it to the esc and then to the motor.
Cooling circuit flow is another BIG area of discussion.
I go for a mild flow that makes a strong trickle at the outlet. Imo if the outlet has a jet of water then you are causing a lot of drag for no additional cooling benefit.

Another approach is to have no cooling at all. My smaller OR powered hulls run this way.

Also my 34" Cat with OR motors that runs low 50's has no water cooling at all. I will admit that it is a 2 minute wonder as that is all the packs can give it.

There is a lot to read about water cooling and then you can make an educated decission as to how to attack your setup.

fwiw I have had hulls with multiple pickups and up to 4 independant circuits.
Not any more. I now spec my fun hulls to not need WC but my semi-saw hulls have WC but shiate still smokes
