Dose anyone run more the just one cooling intake?? I mean one for just the ESC and one for just the Motor?? Instead of feeding warm water to the motor after the esc.. Or is it not that big a deal... Just wondering

One is usually more than enough

Not a big deal as long as the ESC is first. Certainly better to run cooled water in the motor as well. Two is better than one. Watch any y adapters as they can slow the water to the end with more resistance.

Anytime you can bring cooler water to your equip you are doing them a favor. Good water flow and you won't really have that warm of water hitting the motor

Thats what i figured, why not run two pickups and cool them separate, i don't think your putting alot of drag on the boat.What about the batteries?? cooling them too... Im just sitting here wondering. Just another new guy to FE here, buggin you old timers.. LOL

I ran a sweet dual cooling setup in my sv, 2 pickups to outlets fail safe system meaning if one got plugged the other pickup could cool both motor and esc and NO Y connections needed.

It's kinda overkill and this is the only boat I currently run dual pickups on, but I think it came out "cool " as hell lol.

What about keeping the batt's cool Diesel?? like the aluminum coil wrapped around the motor?? But make one out of silicone...

Batts run better warm not cool. Most racers actually pre-heat their lipo's prior to a race, you can actually gain some mph over that. Just make sure your lipos can handle the given amp load and you will be fine.

GFREAK would be happy to sell you battery coolers. They must be wonderfull because, as we all know, GFREAK is the absolute guru in RC Boating.

Electronics and batteries will run better warm, electricity is conducted/ discharged better at warm temperatures. Now in our little ESC's this isn't an issue and heat is BAD but I do know in several high function electronics that a stable temperature is maintained for optimum performance. Gotta also realize that this below this put the machines won't run optimally but above it... you risk overheating. So just confirming what Diesel said, a warm battery is good as long as it isn't excessively hot!

I've found that if the hose barbs on the aluminum motor cooling jackets are screwed in too far they will bottom out on the motor and restrict flow. I file notches on the bottom of the barbs to prevent this.

I have a boat I bought second hand that has 2 pickups for separate ESC and motor cooling, it doesn't seem to do the job any better than a single pickup, but I doubt the drag is noticeable so I haven't bothered to fill one in yet.
