Can you post a photo of the strut/transom and the spacing on the prop/strut?
I might have a possible fix for the water leak if it's what I'm thinking it may be.

Sorry to see she fried. Out of curiosity, which way was the ESC mounted?

I can do that this evening when I get home. I did work on this problem last night. I did two things:
1. Slid some shrink wrap around the shaft and put that over the strut to seal the connection between the shaft and the strut.
2. I "corrected" the issue of leaving a gap between the drive dog and the strut. Now the teflon washer will work as it was designed to and there will br zero gap when the prop pushes against the strut.

Hopefully, this will fix the issue, just too rainy here right now to test. I will let you know.

Either way, I will get some pics out tonight if someone else does not beat me to it.

I also put on heat shrink and filled the void space the red arrow is pointing to with cotton soaked in oil. I light packed it so not to cause fiction.
never got to try it out as it the esc went up in smoke.

Also the esc was mounted with the cooling tubes and motor wires pointed forward.

Exactly, a new esc is not much at all.

Change to Jeff Wolt wire drive and bye bye water pumping in.

Having the prop dog/spacer snug against the strut helps eliminate internal stuffing tube pressurization. That *should* eliminate the water in the drive cable that's pushing grease into the hull.

Well worth the $ IMO. I'm gradually converting everything I have to wire drive.

Correct. It's so good that it pushes ALL of the greese out of the shaft so when you pull the shaft out it is completely "clean". Can't wait to drop it in the water and see if this problem is corrected. Of course it will not stop raining....

I discovered this with the apparition. I was using a 3/16 nylon washer and it kept cleaning the drive cable... right into the hull!

Changed the nylon to a 4mm bushing and voila. No more leak.

heh... I know the feeling. Two new boats to get wet and my other half is off work for a few days. Chomping at the bit to get to the water.

same here!!i have same problem with the water/grease coming up in the hull....tho when i was using stock prop only few tablespoons got in the hull but had more when i was using the turnigy aquaprop 38x25x16mm prop had to drill the hole bigger to fit. it would plane quicker than using stock prop but would top out.

$100 more for a different prop (probably not the right one anyhow), upgraded ESC (which will probably be replaced eventually) and lastly a motor thats questionable?

Oh I forgot the trim tabs.

I would op for the regular boat and upgrade the motor/esc in due time.

found out where my leak was coming from!!!!all the time i thought it was coming up from the flex drive but no!!!!it was coming in frm the hatch on the rear part....i guess thats why they include tape!

has anyone tried using other prop beside stock?
