Well good news bad news. Got my 240hv back from castle and made a 97 mph run. I had the strut a little to deep and she was a little tough to get on plane so it was further down the run than normal. Just as i decided to get out of it she blew over and took a terrible tumble. It hit so hard that the secondary gps onboard blew right threw the corner of the transom and took the hatch off with it..bye bye GPS.That was the only thing that came out so i was lucky my Eagle tree and 400.00 worth of batteries stayed in. Unfortunatly it was upside down for a while as i ran around in panic mode trying to pull her back in and the 240 is dead now. I cant make this crap up! What the hell! Im going to build my back up hull and add alot of extra carbon fiber to keep the hatch on because this sucks. I will also try and lighten it up below the 10 lbs 3 oz its at now wich should help with speed.

Welp got the motor back , made another atempt at a run and my Hydra gave up the ghost. It will not even operate.......beeps but nothing so thats the problem.These things are a joke. Top of the line garbage! Back to Castle she goes!
Wow! Only thing left is the ESC for sure. We could all probably swap "boats from hell" stories! I had a boat with a Castle in it and changed it out to a Seaking 180. Problem solved.
Fluid you are right .....all that power should have incinerated SOMETHING by now.Temperatures start at ambient for the ESC and Motor. Batteries are pre heated to 90-95*After a run temps for motor are 110-120 {no cooler} and around 90* for the ESC. Water is still cold now. Voltage drop s to 24 volts when i hit it and comes back up to 24.5 to 25 volts threw mid run with data showing only a 10-20 degree change in battery temp during the run.. Connectors are all good and i use 8mm bullets. Batteries are the new G4 45-90c 450amp versions. I even swapped them out to brand new, only bench cycled batts with no change. Im getting sick and tired of this crap. My other boats are a blast to run and NEVER disapoint me. This boat is straight from hell and never runs correctly day to day LOL
I had the same problem. Turned out to be used up batteries. They bench tested perfectly. After tearing my hair for weeks, I bought some new G3 batts and holy crap! More power than the boat EVER had.
This is a strange problem. If it was just a drop in speed I'd suggest re-binding the ESC to the transmitter; the ESC may have lost the receiver's WOT setting.
The loss of battery capacity is the oddest part. We are talking a lot of energy here, and all that energy HAS to go somewhere, probably in the form of heat. If the ESC was badly damaged I'd expect it to melt down rapidly. If the connectors had that much resistance they'd de-solder themselves, or at least melt off the shrink. What are the temperatures of everything after a couple passes?
We had this problem some years back with some Barracudas. They can say want they want but if some of the fets are damaged it can make the resistance go way up which would cause a drop in rpm. If it is the ESC just be glad it didn't go NUCLEAR like my last Castle did. With that said a 1527 1D can be very hard on ESC's.
Shot in the dark - - are all your battery/motor connectors in good shape? If they've gotten too much carbon built-up from arcing, that might be causing excessive resistance throughout the system.
Could it be the battery voltage is dropping too much and hitting the LVC? If its set to soft cutoff try setting it to hard. If they drop too low it will cut power 100% instead of just slowing down.
Yea your right. I will send it out tomorrow.I just hate the down time.When my business builds a little more i will have spares of motors and ESCs. Thanks for the input.
