Lost my power

Ok. So Neu checked the motor, you've checked the radio and drive line for binding, and strut adjustments. You verified that the prop is ok. Thru deduction, the only thing left is the ESC.

Hi Dom. Everything has been triple checked and is right on the money. Swapped radios and recievers from a boat that works perfect , same thing. You can tell by the motor pitch that its no where near its max rpm and comes up 8-10,000 less than normal on data logger.

Do you have a castlelink? Maybe recheck/reset your settings?

Ok Neu called and said motor is 100 % perfect.................. Castle is telling me the ESC is an on off device and that it wont hold back power. Before i waist more time shipping this stuff back and forth do yo guys think thats possible? Its a 240HV. Remember its really useing up the batteries ............two passes is almost impossible so thats why i figured it was the motor.Any last ditch ideas before i ship the ESC out? Thanks Guys.

No the boat runs perfect there is just no power or rpm. I could see 5-10 mph with something off but 30-35 mph is extreme. I will wait and see what Steve Neu says. I shipped it back today. I will keep you filled in Sailr. I have spare everything ECCEPT motors.I almost never have a problem with any i have used. I needed a break from it anyhow so this is good i think.

Maybe it's in the hull or strut setup. u said you crashed bad maybe something is not the same after you fixed it. I would imagine the aerodynamics would make quite a difference at those speeds. A little off on the strut could do it also.

Good to eliminate one possible source anyway. I think sending it back to Steve Neu is your best bet at this point. Let us know what the problem was.

Ok just came back from lake. Boat went a 78 on my same batteries and than a 76 on brand new thunder powers, still way off the mark but i now know its not the batteries. Motor still feels ok but its got to be the problem. I am going to send it back to NEU Friday morning and hope he tells me something is wrong.

Native paul..I did ding the prop and swap it but i have 4 exact props in stock so they are all the same. I guess i will change the batteries and see what happens. The pair that i run my fast times with are almost new but i only have 1 pair of these particular batteries. They where 300.00 so i only bought 2 for now. I will try that Sailr. It would make sense because the batts dont last 2 runs now and power falls off fast on the second run and it has never done that. Like i said 2 back to back runs before at 98 and now barely can touch 70 and battery voltage dosent drop to less 24 volts during runs.

I had a P mono and OPC tunnel that mysteriously lost power. I tested the batteries every way possible. Somebody suggested I try different batteries. DAMN! That was it. Although the batts seemed to be just fine, they had just plain lost their punch.

Is the prop bent out of shape from the tumble, that could account for a lack of speed and increased amp draw.

The motor feels the same turning it by hand . Should it spin real easy if the mags go?

You will know if the magnets become weak from heat damage on a Neu. At least if you pay a little attention to your motor. If the cogging or "clunk" whatever you want to call it has less strength and if you have a decent "herd" or fleet of motors then you can compare it. So if your Neu spins very easily then chances are its damaged. I bought a used Neu off B-tray and knew right away it was damaged. There was very weak cogging when spinning by hand. Sure sign. Neu confirmed it for me after I sent it in.

You stated that there were some cracks in the hull needing repairs? Have you carefully inspected the sponsons, ride pads, transom since the repairs? When set on a flat surface are the angles true? Take a 24 to 36" straight edge and compare the bottom both front to back and diagonally. Your issue might be with the hull and not the electronics.

I may have worded this wrong. I have 2 11.1 volt 45-90c 5000mah thunder powers for 25 volts fully charged. At 98 mph ,back to back runs that i saved , it was turning 41,600 so im below what they can handle. The motor feels the same turning it by hand . Should it spin real easy if the mags go?

So almost 80,000 rpm!! You may have de-magged the motor.

Yes and its a 1527 1d. I should have 2 p but it will not fit in my boat.
