Those slight differences can be attributed to other things too like your GPS, and water conditions. Don't get discouraged.
Is 40 too much to ask for???

Yeah, as I mentioned before, I am running in different water conditions There was not a ripple on the lake today except for the occasional circular pattern of a bug hitting the water or fish jumping. My higher runs were in a very light wind chop. Not enough to bounce the boat, very small wind breeeze. Im thinking that has to be it. I even tried moving my cog back a bit. Man she was getting pretty floaty. I thought for sure a few times she was going to lift and blow over.

Yeah Im not done with that one yet. Im going to remove a bit more tongue and adjust the strut a bit and see what I can get out of her.Originally posted by domwilson View PostYou may want to continue with Egneg's recommendations on that X640 too. I'm still betting on that one.

Ive got some. I dont think I need them in this hull. Well, not at 40 anyway... maybe when I go for that 60Originally posted by domwilson View PostGet some of those stick on weights they use for tire balancing and place those toward the bow to help balance things out.
At the last running I moved the batts back to the rear of the sponsons. Usually they are about 1.5" off. It never got scary until I crossed the wakes. And it didnt gain any speed so it wasnt worth it anyway. Just figured Id give it a shot.
Im gunna try real hard to get some vid tomorrow. Maybe after the Mrs wakes up(after noon, shes a night nurse) I can get her to shoot for me. You really need to see the difference this thing is running from where it started. Its nasty cool! And had a lot to do with your advice

I ran it for about 30 seconds first thing this am. Was in a hurry to go wakeboarding
She ran a 40.4 with the slightly detongued 442. I was going to run it again this afternonon and mess with the strut, but its been doing that summer storm thing outside. Im going to remove a bit more tongue tonight or in the morning and see what happens. Im happy that the mods made a difference.. but still somewhere, I took a step backwards. In theory, I should be closer to 41 than I am. But hey... thats why its a hobby right. If it was easy it would be booooring. Every .1mph makes me a bit more happy.....

Tru. I havent been convinced of the 640 yet. I did some extensive strut adjustments and with the detongue Ive done on it, its still not as fast as the 442 when it was only sharpened and balanced. So far its proving to be 1mph slower, stock 442 to detonged and thinned 640. But I will try it again. Im going to stay w/ this prop a bit more until I cant squeze anymore out of it. Then I will go back to the 640. Its tuff trying to work on 2 props at once and constantly making strut adjustments just to change props. Especially on one set of batteries. And, It gets confusing real quick when your down at the pond and not writing everything down, or as I did the other day, wrote down a couple things under the wrong prop and realized it after I came in to post about it.
I got an email from Hobby King today, the 3S 5000 lipos are back in stock. Im going to get one to pair up w/ my 2S 5000, as well as get a couple more 2S 5000's. Hopefully they will still be in stock next week when I can do it.
