Spektrum tx/rx reception issues

My reception in my cheap TRX radios is reduced when I use my rechargeables...

Put in brand new alkalines, and ran the second antenna up the tube with the other in one of 2 boats. I seem to have gained a little distance, but both boats still cut out in roughly the same are, though it was a bit farther away than last time with the rechargeables. I will try a Y harness to a glitch buster next time, but I definitely need to get it better than this for next season, as I am building a KBB 45" and speeds will be well above what I'm running now, gonna need the range......

Glitch buster made no difference. Sometimes it's quick cutouts, sometimes it goes dead, kind of odd. Whiplash20 with Hydra ICE 240 will cut in and out through the turn, while others will go dead for a moment, but sometimes not even long enough that the ESC would be re-booting.....
Here are a couple vids from today, just to give you an idea roughly how far I'm talking, if you pay close attention you'll pick you'll see it cut out. It may have even been the cause of the flip at the end of this one...... And today was better than usual, it's a fine line on the left end, a few feet more and I lose it.

Hi Kevin! I've got the same issue with my DX3C with MR3000. I am using ESC BEC (5VDC) feeding my receiver and rudder servo. It is interesting, when my boat got out of control, I found the rudder servo still alive but ESC is dead (reset?) and I have to restart ESC turning off\on main battery to make ESC alive.
I think this problem could be by power supply issue to the MR3000 (BEC voltage drop during huge acceleration in my case). I am doubt about Rx\Tx glitches because I run my boat no more then 10-25 meters distance from Transmitter usually.
For this boat I never got the same problem using old unbreakable 27Mhz TQ Traxxas or 2.4Futaba 3PM.
I am looking solution now.

Your problem does sound like the BEC. If you can raise the voltage up from 5vdc it may help, and perhaps add a glitch buster capacitor, I know the Spektrum stuff doesn't like lower voltages. I am having the problem with both BEC and 5 cell NMH RX packs with glitch buster capacitors, but good luck!

-----10/25/14----Update------Used a Futaba today, it was WAAAAAY better than the Spektrum. It was the farthest I have ever driven my boats, and I had to go pretty far out of my comfort zone to get it to cut out, but even when it did it was only for a split second. Freedom at last!

Hi Kevin,
How is your new RC going now?
Still happy?
You didn't actually say what model you got, Tx & Rx?
Waterproof, marine etc...
I'm only needing 2 channels, steering and winch.
I'd love to know as both of my SPEKTRUM DX2M & MR200 sets, on yachts so no big power draws, get between 20-40ft from shore and drop out, terminally, after working perfectly on the beach...
I Sure am getting tired of paddling after them...
And talk about Un-impressive when I've invited someone over to have a go or race!
