If you purchased from MGM, I would definitely contact them. They do have a Skype account so you could show them via video conference whats happening.
Are the wires for the cc-11 cable OK? I dont want to say with 100% certainty, but if the PC see's the USBcom4 cable and the cc-11 cable is ok, it seems like the ESC is toast. I think your best best is to contact MGM just to have them confirm it. It should still be under warranty and explain the cooling tube issue as well. Maybe they will cover shipping charges.

Is there a solid blue light that is very dimly lit? I have had several controllers lock up during a firmware update and had to send them back. I have also had a bad cc11 cable.

@TG thank you. I mailed it back. Anytime something does not work the manufacture will say user error. So my money is lost I just hope I can cancel the order for the other two units I ordered.

Thank everyone for the help and patience with all my questions.

Are there any reliable marine ESC's

@TG what ESC's do you use??

            UPDATE:
MGM sent a unit out to me while they test mine. (I will send it back) It is a little different, it does not have full water proofing. They explained it is better. Well I was very unhappy that my esc did not work but they have done their very best to fix the problem.

So would I recommend these units?? Yes even though I have not tested them the customer service I have received so far is excellent.

            Thank you MGM20150603_130141.jpg

UPDATE: The Capacitor bank in parallel with main power had a break (open ) so I re soldered it.

The WP version (increased protection against water, not water proof) has worked great for me with no issues concerning water. I have seen what you describe happen once before when the controller was not properly programed for the number of poles for the motor. It is also important to designate if you are running the OPTO version. The OPTO version does not have BEC power and for future readers, if you have an OPTO version and decide to lift the wire as you would with a controller with BEC running a separate battery, then it will not operate correctly.

With respect to reliability, I will say that I personally have over 100 runs each on multiple 280A X2-Series controllers on 2s setups. I have had no failures and these have regularly seen runs right up to the limit of the controller. Similarly, I know a few folks who run on 6s setups where they experience thermal shutdown on the regular basis and those controllers are still operating happily today. I don't condone putting so much load as to cause thermal shutdown, but simply sharing that the folks at MGM have definitely done their homework. I still haven't seen one of their 400A versions run in person, but I'd like to. I wish that they had a 400A version for 2s, but then again, there are only a few motors that could ever hope to sustain that current for more than a second or two. For example, that would be nearly 3k watts on 2s. Most of the appropriate motors are closer to 2k watts on the high end.

I'm glad to hear that MGM is working with you and they have been great for customer service in my experience and as I hear from many other MGM owners.

Just please send to your customers the basic guides below. The first guide is for large controllers TMM 25063-3 and TMM 40063-3. The second is for smaller low voltage controllers like TMM 16026-3 and TMM 25035-3. The manual should be also on CD.

                  GUIDE 1:

Please use the link below to download the data sheet of your ordered controller. There you can find many important information on pages 4 and 5 of this manual, the right connection of controller on page 6, dimensions on pages 35-36 and correct usage of antispark cable on pages 40-41.

Please also see following important tips below:

                  1) please see this PDF very carefuly, it shows how to correctly use integrated antispark. This is very important:

                  2) please see also mounting tips how to correctly mount the TMM25063(similar for TMM40063-3):

                  3) please also see our youtube video-guides. This video guide shows most needed situations (video #1 - video #6): (these are for X1 but it's very very similar to X2)

                  4) NOTE: this point is relevant only if you will use for feeding receiver and servos the „External BEC“ (if you will use for feeding receiver and servos the „External Batteries“ then please do NOT care about the link below):

(just for information we recommend to use the „External Batteries“ for feeding receiver and servos, this is the easiest way. In this case please follow the instruction about how to use the „integrated antispark“ described in point 1)

                  5) To access the ESC settings you need to do the following:

connect the USBCOM4 to PC and to the controller.

Now turn the controller ON and it should access the settings.

You can find it in the video guide #3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xB8sfhl1gmw

                  6) Regarding the settings of throttle limits. You can follow this video guide and try to set up the throttle limits. You will have to repeat this procedure each time you turn ON the controller. It is meant for testing without PC. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VogImUSasI

If you would like the controller to remember the throttle limits, you will need to use our application Controller2 on PC. There is the video guide:

I will recommend you few settings of parameters for cars in our Controller2 software. Please set the parameter P52: timing to 15 degrees for Lehner motors or 10 degrees for Castle motors, P16: acceleration to 1.0s(if you find out it is still slow, then you can go to the minimum of 0.5s, but it would be better to check the currents from history log after short test), the P22: Brake intensity to about 80%, parameter P21: Freewheel to Yes.
