Power supply suggestions

I am going to invest in a new hyperion charger that will need a 24 volt power supply to take advantage of its full capability..i have done some quick research but i would rather listen to others here on the forum who have had good results...i am either buying the hyperion 1420inet3 or the 730inet3...i think the spec should be around 50 amp capable

anyone using something like this for their hyperion chargers?

looks like a good deal for the specs

i belive in order for me to get the 550 watts out of the hyperion i need 24-30 volts..18 is not bad at all though for that cheap of a price

max amps sells one that will do the job but its 150.00..maybe i can find out which one is just rebadged in the max amps packaging and cut out the middle man so to speak..

What about 2 of the 47 amp server power supplies wired together? They are super easy to mod and you can pick them up for pretty cheap

Get two of the many available server PS and wire them together. You need 50 amps at 24 volts? Thats easy. For about $60-70 and an evening of adapting you can have all the power you need. But they can be a bit noisy if you havent built these server PS out there. I'm happy with mine. Just be aware they are noisy. Lots of air being sucked in. Also for a full 50 amps on 24 volts off 110vac wall power make sure you have a dedicated 30 amp outlet. The normal 15 or 20 shouldnt be trusted.

IMHO I think the puter power supplies look like some poor boys after thought even though they work. Would much prefer to have a dedicated unit like the ones I posted for not that much more by the time you are done soldering and tinkering plus the fact they are small, quiet and super cool looking.
