    Balancing problems

Just got a new turnigy 6000mah 2s lipo and it charged ok but the cells were reading 4.20v and 4.0v I have set it to just balance but it doesn't seem to go above 4.04v on the one cell. Should I just leave it or would discharging it and recharging it help?

I only have the one. Turnigy accucel 6. I think it may be time to upgrade anyway. I've got it on discharge at the mo and the cells are within 0.03v of each other now.

I've had packs do the same thing. Ok at low voltage but won't go past a certain point when charging. I always toss them....

I think this may be the same thing. This was a replacement one as I had a puffed pack from new in my last order. I think it's time to stop buying packs from hobbyking!

I had one like that and brought it back by recharging several times. Took about 6 attempts and it came back and now seems to behave normally. I did not drain them, simply balanced charged them again as if they needed charging even though they were topped off. Gained about .02-.03v after each new charge. Give it a try, worked for me using an icharger 206b. Out of the 12 packs I have from HK, this has never happened to a Nano tech this happened to a cheaper version Turnigy but like I said it was revivable. Cheers

I will have a play with it. I've got the voltage to 4.20 and 4.11 now.

There is a balancer called an Astro Blinky that does a great job of balancing cells. I use a turnigy charger with balancing plugs and have not had good luck with them. I just charge them without the balancers and let the Astro Blinky do the rest.

Use the battery untill close to your LVC and ballance charge again.
Maybe couple of cycles will format the chemistry....
