Is this a fair battery test between Turnigy and Thunder Power packs?

IMO its a fair test. But is it the definitive test?
Take 20 packs of each type and subject them to the same test. Then put fifty cycles through them and repeat the test.
See what the failure rate is and how long it takes to get a bad pack relaced.
Now thats a test!Mike Chirillo

That is what I asked in post #1. I'm not sure either.Originally posted by Rumdog View Postwhy would it not be fair? I'd love to know.
However, with all things being equal, I'm not 100% convinced based on a sample size of 1 pack (3S 2250mAh pack). I would like to see some more testing... With Hyperions too!

Here's a picture of a 4-battery test I a while ago : (sorry for the crappy picture; couldn't get the EagleTree data in a file to post.)
Turnigy 30 C Turnigy 45/90 Nano Hyperion G3 TP 45/90 (all done with 5000 mah packs)
The whole deal is about how the batt's hold their voltage under load - remember a one volt drop equals a one KV drop at the prop.
After one year the first three are like air pillows; the TP's are a solid brick.
I'm not espousing any opinions here; just some data for discussion

While I would like to believe the test, I have to say I am somewhat sceptical, and this is coming from someone who only owns 65/130c nano's as well. Companies don't get a good reputation by being poor performers, and I can't fathom how there would be such a drastic difference between to 2 batteries in that test even tho I have a vested interest in wanting to. Simple answer is we will never know……

Tony that thunderpower tour was a great read thanks for posting but realisticaly a lot of young boaters absolutely cannot afford them - Wife , kids , bills , etc put a huge damper on the hobby budget . I can see a racer that pushes his cells to the ragged edge the thunderpowers being a great investment or the saws racer looking for every little bit of edge he can muster .Necessity is the mother of invention.............
