Possible re-intro build

on another note....thanks to a PM sent by FRED, i have located a decent (but cheap) BL setup.....a 28/48 motor that should pull around 28000 rpm...and a nice little 60amp esc (all for under 60$ may i add)....

but when i looked up an Tx/Rx system...the cheapest FM i can find right now is 100$....so this build will easily top 200$....oh well...i really want to get it going....this will be my 2nd try with a BL setup (last attempt was a fail due to high cost and poor planning....for those who remember the Shockwave 36 convert. ).....and this time i actually want to finish....

over @ rumrunnerracing.com there is a fm jr tx-rx for $59 shipped.

well the problem is with buying used right now is that it will be a little bit before i can buy anything.....my parents are going to support me with this ( B-Day present ) but i have to wait until my birthday comes up before i start buying things....

i guess i can see whats on the swap shop or ebay when the time comes....

its going to be around a month until then so....

thanks for the offer but i already feel guilty enough for getting the free parts from diego....besides....i found a pretty cheap (and hopefully reliable..(but im not holding my breath)) brushless setup that i can run in it....

besides im sure you could use that motor for something.....maybe a little basher boat? Its kinda fun to make a build from extra parts you have lying around....

and my hair is still the same....

i was wondering if i should use some fiberglass reinforcements on the bby hull? i had one before and (although it handled the little brushed motor easily) it felt somewhat flimsy....i know in not running anything close to a powerful setup, but the extra assurance would be nice....i would want to know if it would be an improvement or just extra weight?....with a boat that small every ounce counts...

also i think i might have to split the batt pack to two sets of 3 cells.....the last time i built that bby, i used a stock 6 cell pack and had problems with weight distribution, but because the pack had very limited range of movement i couldnt really get the CoG just right (it was a tad heavy in the rear)

edit: (well unless i get a 2S lipo split pack >.>)..........(well...that would be further down the road, but anyway).....

....well...i do have a radio....but its a 6 channel rc airplane radio......and its 15 years old >.>.....so um...No i do not have a proper rc boat radio if thats what your trying to say....

well i might as well change the title....im pretty sure this build is going to happen now....i got parental approval for it.....although ill have to wait until about a month from now to start really buying parts for it (for that will be my birthday).....

as for the batt packs, i think ill buy a pair of 3 cell packs from here ( http://www.batterystore.com/Intellect/IntMain.htm ) and either get them in configuration #2 or #20 (but most likely #20...the hull isnt exactly that wide, so with the motor in there i may not be able to fit the cells in with #2 )....to find the configurations im looking at, go to Create a Pack and then click 3 Cell Packs.

although im thinking maybe sometime in the future i may buy a pair of single Lipo cells and pair them up to make a 2S setup.....maybe 2S2P (i think thats how it should be if you want twice the mAh....ive been out for a while so i kinda forgot how that all worked) if i really want that extra run time....

Well the radio system came it today.....the things looks pretty high end (especially compared to what i used to use)....and thanks for printing out the manual too....ill probably buy the batts you suggested as well....thanks Doug

I'm also waiting for the hull to come in as well....shouldnt be too long now....but when it gets here i wont be able to work on it for some time.....ill be visiting relative for a while.....
