    Possible re-intro build

Well.....i've been gone for a while now...from RC boats anyway...but as my birthday is nearing....maybe i can try a small build...kinda like my last one (that little BBY mono with the brushed motor).....you know...just something to maybe re-introduce me back into RC

it may be a "spur of the moment" kinda thing, but i might be able to finish it....

the only thing that im worried about is costs.....i would want to try to keep this build as close to the 100$ barrier as possible (though i may be able to push 200 with some talking to the rents and a lot of chores >.> )....although that wont be easy, considering i dont have any of my RC things anymore...i would need to get a motor, esc, radio system, rudder, drive, hull, servos, batt (my friend has a spare charger...and may have some spare batt packs too...although they would be pretty old (they used to be my old green ones from a year ago) )....yeah...

im going to do some looking around online now to see what i can find....if anyone has suggestions..please feel free to share....

      Welcome back.
To do a rtr for under a hundy may be a push.
Have a good look in the swap shop for some good deals. Postage to me is a killer otherwise I would be allover the swap shop.
My only other suggestion is that brushless and lipo is the answer to all RC sins.
It took me a loooong time to fully convert and I would never go back.
Ilook forward to seeing what you come up with.
      See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

yeah i figured 100 was unralistic...its already past it, and ive only got the motor, esc, hull, and hardware accounted for....i would still need a radio system (im hoping i can find a cheap FM, but ill do AM if i need to) and batteries...as well as a few other small things (water pickup, fuel tubing (cooling), servos....yeah

well heres the tally so far:

            BBY OM 21 - 40$

Octura Offset mini hardware set - 73$ (with the assembled shaft)

            Kyosho Mayhem 22T - 28$

            Mount - 6$

CEN esc (and im not 100% sure if it will work yet) - 20$

im already up to 166$ >.>

i think 200$ is a more reasonable goal....

I have a.098 flex cable w/ 1/8 shaft you can have.
I also have a standard 550 motor (new) you can have
...and a pair of trim tabs
I also have your choice of a mini or standard servo too.

Maybe look at making your own hardware out of brass to cut down on costs? it will certainly hold up to brushed and lipo power.

that would be pretty cool...but i dont have the materials/expertise to do something like that....if anything, it may be on a later build....that way atleast i would have a drive already there to base it off of.

dont worry about it, take your time....

it probably will be a bit before i would have enough materials to start building anyway.

Head of the river r/c store on ebay sells tons of good value boat items. for under $200.00 you can get a really nice rtr delta force copy hull.

cant seem to find em....searched for them under "sellers" on the advanced search...didnt get anything...could you maybe link to his store?

on another note....thanks to a PM sent by FRED, i have located a decent (but cheap) BL setup.....a 28/48 motor that should pull around 28000 rpm...and a nice little 60amp esc (all for under 60$ may i add)....

but when i looked up an Tx/Rx system...the cheapest FM i can find right now is 100$....so this build will easily top 200$....oh well...i really want to get it going....this will be my 2nd try with a BL setup (last attempt was a fail due to high cost and poor planning....for those who remember the Shockwave 36 convert. ).....and this time i actually want to finish....
