Doby's New Cat Spring/ Summer Build

It seems everytime this year rolls around, I have to build something new. Last year it was the Rio 51, this year..................................why not a cat.

After running one of their DF 33 knock offs and being more than impressed with the performance and overall quality of the hull, I just ordered a red one of these:

    And one of these:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Dual-aluminum-ru...742.m153.l1262

I plan to run on 8S.
    I'll be using a Hydra 180HV.
Controlable 50's is the speed goal.

Open to opinions on motors and props.

Considering you're looking at $63 shipped for the dual rudder, I sent you a PM with another source Same rudder and available in blue as well.

If anyone else is looking for this rudder, please PM me.

He gave me a package deal on the hull and hardware and only charged shipping on the hull so the prices were very competitive!

Plus, I'm going with the same guy that the DF 33 KO came from so I trust his quality. Great communication as well.

Glad to hear. Just trying to help keep everything affordable but it seems you're way ahead of me!

For motor I would suggest the NEU 1527/1Y starting with a 447,648

John, the hull looks very well made. Give us a heads up when you receive it, as to overall quality. It should be an interesting build.

I was taking with Steve and I'm thinking of a 580L 12T as the power source on 8S2P.

John, for a budget setup it looks very good. Has anyone run 8S on the 580L? If so what hull and prop.

Well, its been 8 days since I placed the order and guess what showed up last night in a really big box,,,one Cat!!!

8 days to custom build a cat and ship it from China. These guys are good to deal with. The boat arrived well packed with no damage,,,not even any customs to pay

The inside of the boat shows some really great fiberglass work.

                          I'll post pics this weekend.
