Hydro & Marine 50" mono Build

Here we go (slow)

Hydro&Marine Xray, the large version.

Motor : Plettenberg 370/50 BM
Esc : Schulze 40/160
Hardware : MHZ Z-drive type1 , with gear build-in.
Juice : Kokam 4000 30C H5 10S2P

First of all : the hull is thin, I can almost read the newspaper with the hull on top of it

So : reinforcements are needed.

Step 1 : transom , it's not a flat one, so plywood is glued in the center,
left and right from the ply : Styrodur C (Roofmate)

Step 2 : the "hips" , next to the hatch , also very thin, I wouldn't take the risk of cracking the hull when a flip-over happens.
So the hips are filled with roofmate aswell.
Covered with glasscloth ofcourse.

Step 3 : Front-upperdeck : same story. On the pic is the strip of Roofmate that is placed under the nose. Covered with glasscloth.

MHZ make some beatiful equipment, I have used an S6 drive on a Gas boat, but I don't know who has worked out their imperial to metric conversions:

1729/N Z-Antrieb - Alu-poliert
Länge (length): 175 mm (4.5 inch) 175mm = 6.8 inches
Höhe (height): 150 mm (4.1 inch) 150mm = 5.9 inches
Gewicht (weight): 695 g (7.9 oz) ?? I am unsure if this is correct?
Welle (Prop Shaft): 6,35 mm (1/4``) Correct
max Prop (max prop): 72 mm

Yesterday I got the Zdrive back (was sent away for an upgrade)
so the build continous :

Marking the holes, drill'em, and mount the drive.

little update.

Mountingholes for Zdrive.
I drilled the holes for the bolts a few mm larger.
On the picture you see : bolt, aluminium tube, stainless steel tube.
Alu tube goes around the bolt.
SS tube goes over the alu tube.
The alu keep the ss tube centered.
Then the tube is glued in the hull.
It keeps oil and water away from the ply that is glued in the back of the boat.
And : if I want to change the position of the drive a bit, I can remove the alu inserts. That gives me about 1mm up and 1mm down, room for play.
The smaller holes have brass tubes inside.
