I understand your theory here, but the way I tried to diagram above can eliminate those faulty esc burnouts when its connected at reverse polarity. Thats why I use the above diagram.

Hey propper, i just mounted up my bj motor to the fullers lower unit and it seems like the collet is rubbing inside or somthing. I thought the bj motor had a shorter shaft than the sv, do you think i need to shorten the shaft some? Ps i met you at the winter warmups- i had the blackjack on 5s that actually turned.

Hi Paul, I haven't used a BJ motor, but both the SV-27 motor and the UL-1 motor shafts need some shortening. I tape up the motor cooling holes to keep debris out & bench-grind the shaft until the end-play between the coupler /driveshaft/propshaft is @ 3/32. Go slow so as not to overheat the shaft. Go easy, takes a little fiddling to get right. Propper, Do you fell the M445 is a faster prop than the x642? How about compared to the Grim 42x55? Let me know, Mike
Ok, Update, I ran the numbers on a calulator I have, and it shows the x642 prop being the fastest, around 56mph..but there is not doubt, it will load the electronics the most. Second fastest would be the M445. I had it showing 52 mph, and the Grim 42x55 which I am running now was set to the variables that I am seeing on the water with 46mph being the set variable. 1: The X642 is fast; I won the P-Spec OPC class at WW IV last year with that prop on my TS-2 / SV-27 combo. At the Nat's last year I ran a M445 & things got too hot & I crapped a rotor. The M445 on my UL-1 was violently fast, BTW.
2: I'm currently using the Grim 42X55, mildly cupped, on the VS-1/UL-1. No GPS, but good speed and motor @ 125, SC @ 110, and the Zippy @ 130. This at Brian's recomendation 'tho at the recent 2-lap he had one of his "secret" props on his VS-1/UL-1 and he ate my boat alive [ he did puff a pack & later on smoked the Hydra 120].
3: The M445 may be too hard on the electronics I think. A thinned-out X642 could be the ticket.
