Hey Pate how is the Hi Model doing for you I've been looking into one for another project and just out of curiosity ,have you gotten a speed on your cat yet and what is your prop of choice so far, I'm getting around 52 mph with X442 .I don't have numbers on the temps but they seem to be fine.

I have set the timing at 7 degrees.

using the s220 ,temps were warm,but not too hot after 3-4 min runs.(caps about 80c, the rest of it about 40c)

Speed 40+mph (did not use my gps cause the choppy waters and the gps is in my 380€ phone -dont want to get that one wet...)


now I have s215 to test (barr cut and very sharp) to test next weekend.

@BigD: I have a 125 Himodel, watercooled. I will change the caps, but it performes beautifully on a Feigao 10XL with 6S 4200mAh. At those prices, it's worth it...

I also have the s220 and 215 + few more but have not had a good day to go out and really test it .I have ran m445 to 54mph but temps felt a bit high to me my next investment is an Eagle tree, I hate not knowing, and yes CornelP Himodel at those prices from what I've heard you really can't go wrong. How are you guys cooling the Himodel?

Easy to do, very efficient. Just be careful when sanding the fets, they are very uneven...

I cool all my ESCs like this.
Cut a piece of 1/4" Aluminium plate to size.
Drill 5/32" holes as per the pencil lines in the photos.
Epoxy in 5/32mm brass tubing & bung screw or plug.
cover the plate with thermal paste & fix the plate to the Fets with the smallest dab of epoxy on the corner of the corner fets. This stops it moving around.
Heat shrink the ESC again.
The pics show a brushed ESC but it's the same setup for brushless. Just make sure the tubes are long enough to reach outside the heatshrink.

Reach outside or, in the case of the Himodel, clear the caps... I had to move them a bit :)

I run my boats mainly on my familys summer house that is in an smal island(well I drive in the water not in the house) . -most of my videos are from there. (this shows the boat ride http://www.youtube.com/user/RangerPa.../5/_wguZ9He_EU )
the best part of that old summer house (with leaky roof...) is that the drive there takes only 15 minutes by car and 5 minutes more on boat from my home.

A quick questionaire for the owners of these hulls.
In case you missed it I am now ready to draw and build a Cat about this big. My mono is off the water for good and I need a home for the power system that was in there.
I need a few dimensions to work with and then from there I can draw and build a hull.

Length I will assume as 32" bow to end of hull.
Bow to sponson rear ?
Beam / width ?
Tunnel width ?
Ride pad width ?
Distance to the steps from the rear of the sponson ?
Distance from the sponson rear to the prop hub ?
Shaft height above the sponson flat line ?

If anyone can fill in some or all of these questions I will be very happy.
I am off to the wood store in the morning to get a LOT of sheet and I have already sorted most of the hardwood for my frames etc.

I am not one to usually hijack a thread, in fact I often deplore the idea but this I do believe is relevant.
I want to do a wooden "copy"of this hull. Just a bit longer though.
