If the agreement is ready to consider buying from you a copy of the body made of carbon fiber. If you do custom. The body is very beautiful! but the tree is not durable and plenty big. Sincerely, Alexander.
At this time I am not offering this boat in carbon fiber, but some day I might. However, until then, please, do not inquire about it as it is not the focus of this thread. And you're right, wood is not durable in its raw form as it's soft and cannot be exposed to water. But it is very durable and extremely strong if sealed in resin and can last forever. If you ever dealt with carbon fiber, you know the cloth has no strength or any value without resin. Once it has been infused with resin then it becomes that which we respect. Also, It takes layers upon layers to match the strength of even a thin wooden plank. I wasn't sure about wooden boats either at the beginning, but now I can see the beauty in it. This hull is build with really strong wood glue, then covered in resin during construction inside and out including the seams, and then I do another layer on top as a finishing step. Carbon and wood go hand in hand here. I still do a full cf inlay on the inside with 12k carbon, and then add expandable foam. The boat is also fairly light. We are constantly trying to shave off weight where we can. At first we did thick rib frames on the inside, then decided to remove them after the hull was completed, so now it's a frameless interior which reduced the weight. Also, the hatch is very thin and weights nearly nothing. The main weight is at the top deck due to it being a solid plank that's carved out, but we will work on removing as much weight as possible from it. As I mentioned, it is nearly as light as my fully built up mhz 114 mystic which has multiple inlays of carbon.
