4mm is the I.D. with a 2mm wall would be 8mm O.D. 1/4" = 6.35mm

Ok more importantly, will 4mm hosing fit my stock equipment? is 4mm a standard interior dia for most fittings? or would i need hose clamps?

Try it and see, if it feels a bit loose put a cable tie around it to tighten againts the fitting.
