Well Pete, looks like I'll be makin' my right sponson flat when I skin mine. I'm finally goin' to get started on it this week, I'm all recovered from the Colorado trip and everything's getting back to normal. "Normal being a relative term"

Has anyone tried anhedral on the inside sponson. It's used on some fullsize boats. I might give it a try on my next build.

Yep. Should be an easy fix. Just sand the frame down flat before you glue the ride pad skin on.

I almost tried that when making the mod to flat, but I chickened out!

The anehedral mod is on the non-turn fin side... I'd say its to lessen trip but, may let the boat drift more or depend more on rudder and fin...????

I think the anhedral 785 is talking about is on the turnfin side (to help glide through the turns...i.e. use the fin to turn, not the hull).

Regarding the 3deg/flat design, Mike and I have been discussing the tunnel depth on each. Since the side with dihedral is essentially a point contact in the water, it most likely rides deeper in the water than the flat side. If this is true, the flat side should have a slightly shallower tunnel depth. No? Well, that's how my mod ended up at least, and it seems to work!!

                    rayzer.
Which one was better? The flat or the anhedral?
