I believe so. If someone knows more about it feel free to correct me. But I believe he did get a record, then either tried to break it again or was testing for the next saw event when the blow over happened.

Yes it's a 135 bulletproof layup. I'm not sure what he had for power...assuming lehnersHPR 135 redemption, HPR C5009, modded zelos 36, 32 boats and counting.

I don't think the spill was 100+ maybe in the 80 mph range. Landed square on the left side of the hull.HPR 135 redemption, HPR C5009, modded zelos 36, 32 boats and counting.

Nice to see you're going to have her back out on the water soon!
I think you'll get bored fairly quickly with that cat on 8 or 10s though...I would run 12s on those motors and fairly aggressive props. These cats are at their best at higher speeds.
To clear up a couple things...
I didn't set any SAW records with this boat, I never even ran it at a SAW event. Due to the strict enforcement of the "max 25lbs out of the water" rule in the IMPBA, it never would have been legal to run (it weighed in at ~28lbs). I did run 120s multiple times and won the LOTO shootout "Top Gun" trophy with this boat, but no SAW records. It was crashed and broken when I finally decided to lower the voltage and prop down for some "fun runs". A 95mph crash is what did her in. While I have had boats crash at 120+ with no hull damage, this crash was an anomaly. There was no air time to speak of, no skips across the water, just one hard splat. The incredible force was apparent in the boat in many ways. For instance, on the bottom of the hull you can see where the 1/4" thick (I'm guessing on thickness...I don't really remember) motor mounts started to push through the hull. If you know just how thick/strong these bulletproof hulls are, you know that it took an extreme amount of energy to do that.

Thanks keith, I knew someone would eventually chime in. Scott did a great job fixing her back up. I wasn't sure you could run 2028 on 12s. But I'll give it a go. Future plans are for lehners and mgm controllers.HPR 135 redemption, HPR C5009, modded zelos 36, 32 boats and counting.

They're only rated for 10s, but they really aren't made any different than the 56mm Chinese motors out there that are rated for 50k RPM. Caveat Emptor in this case, but since you're planning on Lehners in the future anyway, you might as well see what you can get out of those 2028s!Originally posted by ls1fst98 View PostThanks keith, I knew someone would eventually chime in. Hi I have ran the 5216/3 CNC props on my previous MHZ138 and have to admit they didn't do much for the boat. But the MHZ and HPR like the 2 blade props a lot better. Something like a 57 cut down or straight up 57 S/B should give you good results also. Why the double wires into the double connector? Wouldn't you rather solder the 2 wired into one connector?Visit www.customcfparts.com | Custom Boat Building | Custom Carbon Fiber Parts | Custom Graphics | LMT Premium Dealer | MGM Premium Dealer | YouTube | Facebook

Thanks for the prop info. I'll be looking for new ones. This is all I have in this size range at the moment to get her in the water n see how she does. The connector I did this way in case I ever wanted to run 2p setup I unplug the short parallel adapter.HPR 135 redemption, HPR C5009, modded zelos 36, 32 boats and counting.
