2nd run with modded strut , 438x 2b , CC 1515, T180 V3, custom this and that, .150 cable, thrust washers, cool temps and good run time , ready for bigger prop !

We going testing in the morning . I have a 440m 2b that's pitched up and way sharper than the 438x 2b I have been running. I might be able to talk my buddy into letting me run his 440x 3b. Will get some vid. The last mod really paid off !

Should help get it in plane quicker. That's really the only drawback of the last mode you did with the lexan ride plate. Running surface so close to the prop, it cavitates a bit more on the launch. I bet temps are nice and cool though with such a small prop and that motor!

Yep , the temp on the motor jacket was actually cool for WFO throttle almost the whole time ! I think the ride plate smoothing the water a bunch before it hits the prop and let's it run less loaded. This is the first boat I have had that ran so cool for that long of a run time. When I recharged the pack it took 4873 mah out of 8000.

I just realized I don't have a pic like this. As you can see the ride plate sits just slightly up from the bottom so no drag when the boats up on plane. I wanted to let the prop find a little extra water when taking off so I notched the center in the middle. This mod took me one hour to do from start to finish. I did not sand any surfaces before joining the ride plate to the strut only cleaned with alcohol . Allow 1 hour to cure and I went testing :) it's fully reversible . Another thought that pushed me to try this is to keep my amp spikes as low as possible . The thought of simply putting my strut lower was the basic thought that came to mind but that can cause other issues like higher amp draw and bigger spikes. This mod is easily reversible . The only thing is if the plate does come off I will most certainly ruin a prop.

Off to go test with the 440 3b. I ran the 440M 2b and not much difference . I feel like a real dork for doing this but nobody to go this round. Also I ran a brand new 8000mah pack and almost destroyed it , I went 5 min 30 sec and it took 7550mah on the recharge , cells went down to 3.59v and temp on the pack was 115-120F . No puffyness and seems fine !

Just got home and boat was much faster but had a little harder time getting on plane. Did some testing with the turn fins and made another leap in handling. Looks like the all in one trim tab turn fin combo is working good. Vid uploading soon.

Ok here is today's vid . It's the first time I asked a homeless person for a favor and I'm glad I did because he did a good job running the camera . thank you Mr. E-bike rider with the liquor breath , it was very fun chit chatting , your so smart you went crazy

I think I'm going to order a bigger two blade prop , the cavitation was a bit of a problem getting out of the hole and it seemed to lift the boat some once on plane. I am totally open for prop recommendations . ESC and engine temps are still really good.

After the success I had with the boats handling I decided to bust this off and clean up the strut so I can braise on an aluminum implement . I have a 640x and 642x 2 blades to give a go !

Ordered two struts and plan on testing different plate designs. The last strut is still usable I just had to grind it all up on the sides and bottom to clean it up. I decided to stick with lexan on the ride plate . I didn't scuff anything when I joined it to the strut last time and it busted off with less effort than when I strength tested it so that tells me it was weakening , the putty is strong but don't really compare to JB weld . This next time I'm actually going to scuff up the areas to be joined and use real epoxy then fiber glass resin to seal it. The aluminum added a lot of weight anyways.
Now if I can get my faster props here I might get some motivation !
