I hate rattle can painting. sprayed the bottom first a couple of hours ago then turned it over to do the inside and sides. started sparying on some clear and that dried enough to handle I turned it back over to clear the bottom and wouldn't you know it it immediately started to lift the paint. Did I mention I hate rattle cans.

With Rattle cans you have to make sure the color you're spraying is the same type of paint as the clear you're going to use or it will lift most every time.

It was the exact same. i think I waited too long as the recoat is before one hour or after 48 hours

Been there, done that. Using the same brand of paint no less. I finally made the leap and bought automotive paints and clears and things jumped to a new level of durability and finish. A lot of work though.

Looks good Jim. I have also ran into the paint/clear issue. Thought about switching to auto paint but the prep/cleanup and $ for paint is holding me back. I have been using U-pol clear with good results mind you, as long as you let the base cure real well.

U-Pol is a awsome rattle can clear, my local Autobody supply has it. and they can put any color automotive paint into a rattle can. You guys might want to check with your local Autobody supply stores most of them can do that... It's deffinetly much cheaper than buying a paint gun and all the stuff that goes along with that.
