Can you send it in *.dwg format? AutoCAD 2002 or older. I save all my drawings as an R14 because it is still an industry standard. I had the pdfin command on my system, but it just caused problems.

BTW, the actual drawing is made following european rules, not U.S., right view on the left, top view on the bottom!!!
Once it is completed, I'll have a "non-metric-following-U.S.-standard" version availlable

The distance between the back transom bottom edge and the front step rear edge is 460mm.
The CoB on my test hull is at 142mm forward of the back transom bottom edge.
The CoB is very similar in setup to a OB tunnel, too far forward and it runs wet, too far aft and it will be very flighty and prone to blow over. This is speculation so far because I have very little room to move the COB as a result of my build process. However I do have a tunnel hull and know the characteristics of that boat reagrding CoB. On my TH it is well aft and a real handfull in the turns.
This is going to be an interesting thread and as I have said before:
I am keen to help !!See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

YESSSSSSSSSS, I estimated the step at 465 according to the pictures!!! not bad hey!
142mm that's around the middle of the sponsons isn't it?
do you think a 380 8XL would do it under 2S 4000mAh Lipo?Last edited by ED66677; 08-19-2008, 03:28 AM.

BL and Lipo ????
That is all out of my area of experience at the moment.
I run a Brushed can that has 27,500 rpm unloaded and running a 531 prop on 6 Nimh cells.
If one of the more experienced motor burners here can do the maths based on that then you will get an answer.
IF a 380 size BL motor matches up to a 540 Brushed then I may go BL sooner than I thought. the big kicker is not so much the motors but the speed controllers.
Anyway that is for another discussion topic coming soon.
ED, you are doing an amazing job so far considering how little I have given you to work with.
I will do some higer res photos soon if you want.See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

Updated again!
Simon, do you have an idea of your amp draw? or estimated run time? this would give an aproximation of the power that this boat requires, I know the 4000mAh Camelion batt you are using, I have a bunch of them, but I jumped to lipo's because it's half the weight of Nimh and discharge rate is better, so voltage drops a lot less under lipo's, available power is then higher!

Amp draw ??? Let me see here.
I have not cooked a 30A Pro boat speedy in this hull, the hydro still has the burn marks though
The 60A car esc that I sometiems use does not thermal here but will in the Cat and hydro so as a guess I would have to say up towards 30A if that is any help to you.
I am keen to see if a 380 BL motor is sort of equivalent.See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

the 380 8L can pull up to 53Amp but I think the 7XL might be more appropriate with a higher KV!

the 540 12S could also be an alternative for the same weight as the 380 8XL?
any input are welcome!
