    This will see upwards of 14KW (19Hp) .. @49 lb/ft ... :shock:

    Internal rotational mass of 30gm gears is not a considered issue here

              Rick, in the photo you posted the top left is an output gear, along the top row you have output, input and output. It would be easier to see if all gears were in place, but the top left one meshes with the bottom left one not the top middle one, bottom left one is an idler gear that reverses the direction the top left gear spins, so the props contra rotate which vastly reduces the torque reaction on acceleration. Note the box is upside down in the photo you posted, so that top row will actually be the bottom row when fitted.

              Wayne, it is a superb bit of engineering and I too look forward to seeing the rest of the build, I am far too lazy to have considered doing something as realistic as that, and would have taken the easy option and used twin motors, I suspect most people would do likewise, so you get huge respect from me for your bravery, work ethic and your engineering ability (as well as your electrical knowledge).

                It was the upside down picture that confused me. Makes perfect sense that it's an output gear and the one below it reverses it's rotation.

                  I have shelves of W drive diags and designs, when a colleague sent me this pic .. I was excited !

                  a quick check of the bank balance said I was not going the V8 .. so I opted for the hardware instead ..



                  after a pregnant pause the gear arrived ... and the build is now on !

                  Here are shaft mounts( guides with oilers courtesy of OSE )
                  nothing is tightened yet.. just for show lol

                    The gear bottom left meshes with the input gear, and also meshes with L ouput, making it counter rotate compared the other side .
                    Trust me , it works !!

                    To change props from outward to inwards rotation, I just need change rotation of the motor ( and swap flexes )

                        This has got my attention big time! Drag boats rule. The monster torque and insane acceleration is out of this world. Once you've driven or been for a ride in one your spoiled for life. I didn't know you could get rc V-drive units. I will have to plan another build!
