It doesnt matter much Kent. I have been converting the airplane controllers as they use the same internals. I do a full conformal coated, watercooled conversion that Brian Buass taught me. They work amazing. You just use a pistix...$20 is all a pistix costs, and corrosion X the pistix to keep it from failing from water. I am now thinking about offering conversion services. It does void the warrenty, BUT, I have not had one fail yet. Its all about setting the timing correctly.

Yes, some Neu motors do not play well with some imported controllers, mostly the racing versions like the 1Ds and 0.5Ys.

Not a dumb move on Castle's part at all, in fact it is the smart money move. Boaters make up a VERY TINY part of their business and they don't really make any money with marine controllers. In fact the time, parts and manufacturing space are far better spent making thousands of airplane and heli controllers instead of a few hundred marine ESCs. The past decade has really been a gift from Patrick as he wanted to provide a US product for us boaters even if it meant losing money.

Are you gonna run 2 - 6S packs in parallel? I am going to run a 2S +4S in series and then another 2S+4S in series and then parallel the 2S+4S team together...I'm hoping to be able to spread the load for a good CofG if needed...

Doing that many lipos is going to add some weight, but also give you some more CG adjustment too. I dont have any 6S lipos (yet) . This is my largest boat so far, and was wondering if 2 3S 6600mah 65-130c in series where going to give me what I need to run a race ? Im really trying to have it all right to begin with, so I dont have to add any dead weight to get CG. Guess my years of building fast light planes is carrying over into FE boats, I always thought that EDF jets tested power systems but ive come to realization that boats test them a bit more....DJ
