TWIN motor SV27

this should be interesting to say the least. I am going to do a twin powered SV27. it's going to be brushed at first since that's the power system I have available right now.

looks good mo, that that will be pretty bad ass once you get around to the brushless stuff. It will be interesting to see how it runs with the brushed motors though.

Yes I will be going counter rotating and brushless when money frees up a bit. right now my goal is the have this project water ready for this Sundays meet in Land O Lakes, FL

the power will be twin lemans 360's out of my Kyosho Hurricane and the controller will be a traxxas evx

and as always my trusty JR radio

I will be working on the motor mount tomorrow, the couplers will be a bit iffy, I'll need to hit up the local hobby shop and see what they have. I'll also need a matching set of props, a second grim 3 blade will do the trick for now until I go counter rotating.

for the rudder I have two options let me know what you guys think
1. put it further out to the right side of the boat
2. shorten the arm and run it in the center of the stingers

why dont you shorten both stingers and run the rudder in between/ behind the props?

Because then you'll get near the trim tabs and have the prop a very short distance from the transom.
My pic would be to lengthen the rudder stand off so the blade is a fair way behind the props.

Oh now this can be a whole lot of fun !
I have a29"slightly underpowered mono that has a handmade "stinger"type of drive and a loooong rudder standoff to get the rudder behind the prop.
How do you describe responsive !!!
A flick of the rudder and this thing changes direction like a pin ball.

Avanti . You have done some cool builds before and I am sure you will do well with this project.
I will be watching as I still want to do one twin power for my fleet.

Are you aware that the SV strut mounting bracket isn't square? It's beveled to compensate for the prop walk. If you're going to "counter rotate" the props in the future, you may want to consider squaring them off.
