    Right on. So if I go with 4x Turnigy 4s 5000mah 40-50c. They should be enough power to get me in the 60s with a X457 right? That's in 8s2p configuration.

    Ok thanks, I need to bench test it to see if the ESC functions correctly as there has been a few probs with the FC escs. Do you think the timing is right?

    The 3 motor wires can be connected to any 3 of the esc motor wires, if it runs backwards swap any 2 over & it will run the correct way.

    Motor arrived.... flex cable and collet didn't

    Motor Timing etc
    Let me know if this is ok
    I set timing at 10 and Khz at 8
    Linear

    Also since the connectors on the esc aren't colour coded what goes where? I have a Orange, yellow and blue wire on the motor.

    I see there are some high quality overlander batteries going on ebay UK. Overlander Pro 60-80c but they are only 4400mah each so it would be 8800mah if paralleled. Is this enough mah for a 6min run?
    Other than that there are some 5000mah 40c Turnigys I can buy on this forum but the difference in performance between the 2 would no doubt be really noticeable. Just comes down to run time...

    So I think I will start on a X457, see if the motor can handle it then upgrade to the X460 if it can. Motor placement will be as near the back as possible as I want power to prop.
    Keep with the 2 blade props right?

    I was just looking at my Cyberstorm and Ray Fuller has mounted the tabs completely flat with the bottom. On my DF41 I would say they are about 2mm up with only slight pressure on the tabs

    My bottom of vee to the top deck is 80mm but it is 300mm wide. I guess that's quite a bit of difference.
