Motor and Servo mount are now immovable!!! I always wanted to do this to a raw but nice fiberglass interior..................
I mixed together 8 oz. of epoxy and poured it in!! I tilted the boat so that one side of the bottom was then horizontal, tipped it a bit here and there to move it where i wanted and then carefully let it sit with that side of the hull flat. Gravity spread it out very evenly.....................then it got HOTTER than the dickens!!! So much epoxy curing/bonding at once...............Didnt do anything to the hull though.
After it dried hard I did the same to the other side and then to the front as well.
Now i have what i would estimate to be a 5mm layer of clear, smooth, brick hard epoxy that the motor and servo mount are completely embedded in. Looks really good!! The hull weighs a bit more now but it feels so solid!
The pic below of the Manufacturer name is actually the name imprinted in the fiberglass and the thick epoxy layer over it!!! :D
You can see in the first picture how far the epoxy comes up the base of the motor mount.................its that thick on the whole bottom now
