    ABC Super Hawaii

Always loved the look, just got it today and it is pristine, been on his shelf for years in the basement out of the sunlight. Came in the original box with a $239.95 pricetag on it. Not sure i want to rip everything out and make it a single motor stinger setup..............most likely wont. It has the steerable outdrive with a u-joint. If i use the geared twin motor stock setup, it will still retain the look (and value) of a classic boat. If i want to speed her up a bit i can simply use a couple of 3650 brushless motors in the 3000kv range and swing a big prop..........48-52mm.........that way I can keep the revs down.

Sure does have trouble turning from what i've seen in vids. I plan on adding turn fins and maybe even some extra weight in the keel.

What was your setup Doby..........ESC..............voltage............ prop?

Another beauty ! I remember years ago when I followed Offshore Powerboat racing this boat was on the circuit. Good find (Who needs a go-cart anyway?).

Seem to remember from a while back that attempts to upgrade performance resulted in handling ills. Best bet could be a mild enhancement and enjoy the scale appearance. I've found from my Twinstorm days that steerable outdrives don't translate well to models. I do have a mod for the u-joint that could help-especially if it has the "ball and cup" joint .

Thanks Tony, whats your "mod", it has the stock ball and cup outdrive.

                  I'm thinking of possibly:

-Using the stock "2 motor tranny" with 3000kv 3650's on 3s thru the stock outdrive and a large prop
-Using the stock tranny with the twin 3000kv brushless and a stinger/rudder
-Or going to full shaft/flex/stinger/rudder with a 3674/4074 direct drive.

If i do the latter i'll botch up the stock setup in a "never seen water" speciman and may regret it

Pics of her after I applied the rest of the decals.

The "ball and cup" is noisy, sucks power when angled, and wears out quickly. This is the Graupner all metal goodie which is the ticket. Input side is 3/16" so if your shaft is 4mm like on the Twinnie just sleeve with tubing. Must have the swivel joint perfectly aligned with the outdrive pivot to work correctly and will work great. I seem to remember using the Villian prop shaft for some reason (it's been some time ago.) Hobby Lobby had the Graupner joint; I may have one but I'll search if you can't source one. Leaving for Arizona WWVIII in 24 hours & I'm freakin' out (racing SEVEN classes )

Ive got the Gancia de Gancia nitro version of this without the steps in the hull, it will go brushless in due time. Also have the ABC nitro falcon, this will also go brushless :) Cracking boats for fun.

I think lots of mah would help for the weight.Should keep it planted.
