Post #3 to get the tubing to fit into the strut if running larger diameter cable with Teflon u need to step down the brass from 9/32 to 1/4 then it will fit in your strut while letting u use larger diameter cable and TeflonLast edited by Chrisg81983; 11-13-2011, 12:00 AM.my youtube videos http://www.youtube.com/user/chris81983?feature=mhee

Were the strakes removed all the way from the transom to the bow? Or were they only removed from the transom ride pad area?
The reason i ask is I have the same hull with full length strakes that i want to use for P Spec Mono and it looks like you got this hull pretty dialed in and it appears that you have at least some of the strakes removed.

Hi, are you running a thrust bearing? If not, is all the load going on the motor bearings since there really isnt a flat area on the 'wrong' end of the strut for a teflon washer................Originally posted by Clueless1 View PostIt's a hydro strut I used in order to do the flood chamber which allows more strut adjustment. if it was mounted properly I would have
Had to make a plate otherwise the strut wouldn't work.

Most serious racers using Neu motors don't bother with a separate thrust bearing. There are several reasons for this.
1) It isn't required since the bearings used are designed to take both axial and radial loads.
2) Setting the proper pre-load on the separate thrust bearing is tough to do correctly, and usually will end up adding drag.
3) It costs less without one.
4) Can't argue with what works.
On cheaper motors with cheap bearings, a thrust bearing may be a slight advantage, but keep in mind #2 above.
