Kfxguy, I usually use turnigy nano tech 14.8v packs. I'm not sure if I'll try to get a new set of those or not.
Tlandauer, I had set the quad on gps mode so it will try to maintain a hover in one spot. But I was still worried about it and kept watching it to make sure it didn't go crazy on me. Not sure if I'll do that again or not. I was worried it would end up in the lake.Land, Sea & Air, A true RC Addict.

Yep. I turned the timing up on the esc to 15 degrees from 11.25 and got a real prop for it now. I think it'll be close. I was having a conversation with someone today who had a nice conversation with Steve neu and he was told the 1y motors really like 15 degrees of timing for maximum output. Figured I'd try it. The prop I'd going to make the most difference. It went 82.3mph last weekend with a m645 that I just sharpened and balanced. Now I have a Mark Sholund prop.Originally posted by JPriami View PostOn your 32" cat with the 1518?32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) was

Ive been looking online this morning to find some other packs. Like I said I usually use the tunigy nano techs. The price is not too bad. But id like to maybe try something else. Anyone have any recommendations? I once had a set of hyperions but I dont know what else would be good.Land, Sea & Air, A true RC Addict.

Here some video from this past friday. I have some 14.8v lipos on order and haven't arrived yet. So in the mean time I made a harness to run my two 7.4v lipos as 14.8. Pretty much the only reason I ran was to test the harness and see how it runs with those and being a little lighter.
Heres a snapshot from the video that I thought was neat.

And a short video.

I've got some of the A-Spec packs and so far I like them, I've got a pair of 6s that I run in my Q boats and a pair of 10s packs for my big mono and hydro.Originally posted by kfxguy View PostWhy did you decide on turnigys? I have used tunrigy nanos in the past, for the price they are decent. Ive spent big $ in the past on other packs. Ive also owned a pair of Hyperion EX G3 packs a couple years back. Ive never used these A-Spec nanos so I thought Id give them a shot. All in all for just going and having fun at the lake I never seen any difference in my other packs in the past. Maybe if I were racing things might get more important. Also as compared to a couple years ago, we have had our second child in the family. Along with trying to get a place of our own finished up. So the miracle whip gets spread thin these days lol.Originally posted by kfxguy View PostWhy did you decide on turnigys? I wanted to get this boat going so I have a little time I can go enjoy something once in a while. I needed new packs and I wanted to order a different radio system to try. Im going to try the new traxxas 4ch tqi thats bluetooth. Then use the live telemetry so I can see whats going on inside the boat without taking it back to shore and ripping the tape off. I have two temp sensors (one for each motor), a voltage sensor and the gps module. Another reason I went with the bluetooth version is so you dont have to put your phone in the docking base or even have a docking base. Plus traxxas is going to release an android app soon, so no longer will it be only for apple products.Last edited by JPriami; 09-02-2014, 02:30 PM.Land, Sea & Air, A true RC Addict.
