You should be able to. He said it draws about 100a on 6s. This is the exact same boat I wantto build. The only thing that intimidates menus finding the correct CG and mounting the motor in the right spot. You running 1 pack or 2? I might run a 1200-1400kv motor on 6s 2p. I would mount the packs on ether side of the motor.

    Boat looks great!

Thanks bud I'm not sure with the 6s bat's ,I just got back from ose store and found there are about 6 motor's in a 4074 or a new 3674 should I get 1400 kv per volts 2.5y /////or 1700 kv 2y or 1900 kv v3,5d,, I gess I'll get the 1400 kv 3674 for $88 And maybe I can buy one 6s bat and cut down on charge time's,I love my df33 I almost mist it at ose it was the last white one,you should get one from steven,

hello leopard 4074 1400kv with octura x642 at 6 cell lipo draws 95-100amps so the turnigy 120amp esc is fine. if you want a 3674 motor i would recommend you too wait and get the few extra bucks getting the 4074 because it can take much more power. if you want a 3674 motor go for the leopard ones or other 4 pole motors with high efficiency. leopard is the motor you will get most for your money with..

        leopard 4074 6s octura x642 turnigy 120amp esc= 80kmph and good runtimes.

and i know the hull likes this prop

you will need 4000mah 25c 6cell minimum for the setup.
          i would reccomend 30c....

if you want even more power and speed you can use x645 but then your amp draw will be 120amps+ with this prop you will need 4000mah+ 40c+ 6cell batteries. this is no problems for the motor (leopard 4074 1400kv) but batteries will need high c -rating.

and i wouldnt reccomend deans connectors for this setup.. deans will only be good too about 90amps..

you can also use a high volt esc and go 7cell lipo with this motor and use x642 prop you will need 40c+ batteries here also.. and 130amp esc or more.

i have also run this motor on 8cell lipo and x440 prop got 100km/h amp draw 100amps but this setup is not good because the hull is too muych for this 40mm prop it will slip/spin out very in the smallest waves which is very irritating =)

if you want too be able too run 8cell lipo in this 33" hull leopard 4082 1250kv should be a interesting motor on x442 prop =) or the 4082 1000kv on x645/x646prop maybe...

super choice! the hull handles very nice with that setup just datalogged that setup today and it was 90amps at the most.
                90amps x 22.2v= 1998watts

and it has good run times with 4000mah 6cell 30c.

if you go for 5000mah 6 cell you will have very long runtimes =) but 4000mah also gave great runtimes.

my boat is set up with trimtabs even (flat) with hull bottomn)

and the strutt is also flat with hull bottomn. (maybe a tad up)

and CG is 31% from rear of hull.

Hey Fastblack, what do you think about a 4082 1500 kv on 5s2p 10000 mah in that hull? Will it fit and with what prop? I was thinking about getting one...
                  24 R/C vehicles and still counting...What budget?

4082 1500kv is a absolute super motor in this hull, two mates are bulding df33 with the 4082 1500kv its a super motor for 5-6 and 7 cell lipo use.

with 5 cell i would go for the x646 prop

                    with 6 cell i would go for the x645 and x642 prop (if i had 40c 4500mah+ 6s batts= x645 if less c rating/mah=x642)

with 7 cell i would use the x442 prop and if i had a big esc 160amps + and 40c+ 5000mah lipos with gold bullet connectors i would try x642 prop..

amp draw 6 cell x645 is about 130+amps (youll need bullets connectors for setups over 100amps)

amp draw 6 cell x642 is about 100amps

amp draw 5 cell x646 i guess is about 100 amps (dont have any logging done on this setup yet)

10000mah 5 cell inn this df 33 hull will work but maybe a bit on the heavy side...

5000mah 5 cell is better.... but 10000mah should be ok and will give super runtimes.

Just datalogged my df 33 today with leopard 4074 1400kv at 7 cell lipo with x442 prop detounged and it was 100amps+. 2600watts+
this is a nice setup too. boat runs super stable with no issues speed about 90kmh.

one thing too remember dont go under 42mm prop on df33 hull because 42mm prop is the smallest prop that will move df 33 hull nicely.
40mm just spins out and slips...

and another thing ann all props 42mm or bigger its a great thing too get it detounged it will not have a big problem with cavitation if the prop is 42mm + and you get more top end speed and less amp draw longer run times. all my props are sharpened and detounged. my props at the moment is: x437, x440, x442, x642, x645, x437/3 =)

Sounds good Fastblack! How much room do I have for the two 5s 5000 lipos? I know that motor rocks! It is what I run in my MeanMachine!

space/room is no problem with 2x 5000mah 5s lipos, i have run 2x 5000mah 4 cell lipos in it and there is room for more...

Hi guys, tuning in from the Netherlands here.

I have about the same setup (Leopard 4074 1400kV on 6s). Considering what Fastblack said, the 100A power draw the running time should be 3 minutes. 100/5 = 5%, 5% of 1 hour is just 3 minutes. Which in my opinion is not that great. But again, that's just my opinion ;-)

Fastblack, have you measured the running time at all?

Anyway, looks like a great setup, I have the European equivalent of the DF33", the Hydromarine No Step 3. Should run great with the setup.

well amp draw is 90amp max and thats peak i guess 85amp constant at full throttle. and you dont have full throttle all the time i guess 4-5-6minutes runtime depending on driving style. this is with the 4074 1400kv and x642 at 6 cell
