I think its good , seems to work good in your setup . mine was 28% also....the Stealth was good at 60mph but became a real handful driving when the 70mph barrier was crossed . Mine easily flipped doing high speed turns also . I am really impressed with the Castle 2028 motor , yours infact...you have virtualy duplicated a Neu 2230/1Y's performance for less than half the cost . There is a lot to be said about that..............Absolutely well done

Now for the test of time

Thanks for the kind words Punisher. I'm quite pleased and a bit proud as well. I made one tweak last nite. i moved the rear packs back about an inch..........so basically i moved 10s @ 5800 back.............a fair amount of weight. I noticed it kinda plows at slow speed in the turns......i guess it should though with 18lbs de-planing. Still, it ran at a good attitude on the straights in the last run, but there was still some chop to get her up...............on total glass she would have been kinda wet. We'll see if the weight helps on the next run.

These hulls are known for ploughing in turns and also running wet,i doubt you will get her running drier without some major blueprinting on the hull bottom. The hook makes em stick to the water.

try lowering the prop a little, migh give you that extra bit of lift to get her out of the water.

I think i have wrung everything out of this setup........could do a saw pass with larger prop, but I'm good with this result, Kinda proud too.

I have the batts for 11 or 12s, but i'm going to resist the urge i believe since she runs well now and is fast enough for me, thanks!

Good decision. 11 or 12s would definately spin it beyond the rated rpm of the motor. All you need is a little more prop if you want to go faster.

Knowing this now Peter, do you think this motor is too much for a 40" mono??
Thanks and nice thread, nice reading.
                      I have a 2028 & SF240 but, only a 40" hull... what to do... Maybe use a 1717 in my 40" hull on 6S like make a Wake?

                      Back to your thread....

You can never put too much power in an FE!
you might want to go for an 8S setup, more power for a heavier hull, especially one that balances at 28%, you need some power to get it going.

                          I put a 5692, 1340kv motor in a 29" Phantom cat on 6S with a 45mm prop. Nothing but torque roll & undrivable. :p

I want to be the first old fart that was a doubter to pass out a big CONGRATS!!!!! You did more with that boat than I have ever seen. I will now remove the Sikk I have in mine and follow ur lead sir!! Gassers would never believe you could get that heavy thing to or above 60mph in a million years. I new there was a reason I was selling most of my gas stuff

Anyway never too old to learn from u guys.

I almost have the accumulated items necessary to show u my first build. Just waiting on 1 very special item. Will need a buttload of advise. Will tell u it is a 43" hull but waiting for that one special item.

the single CC1717 on 6s should see low to mid 50's
                              a 5692 could be a great choice for you on 6s ??

I'm running a CC1717 on 6s2p in my Osprey 41" mono, I think it's a good match for that hull. Only have 1 run on the boat so far, just finished it last week but she was fast a stable. Hope to get some video soon..
