I am not questioning his 57mph but just saying 65+ is a BIG difference from that boat doing 57. I will watch this one and see. Will post a link tomorrow to a 50" DV with a twin rcmk in it and you can decide for yourself if 1 electric motor u can hold in a single hand will do what that boat does with the inline twin. If I am wrong on this build I will be the first to admit and give full credit. NO ego here.

I just know that hull and have seen an inline twin rcmk run and oh well enough said, I still sincerely wish you the best on this build.

Believe me I have seen a buttload of big rc gas and nitro boats run in the last 36 yrs too.

The GPS reading at the end of the vid is 65....................dont know where the '57' came from, i also dont recall anywhere in this thread a "65+" reference.

But either way, i do appreciate your interest in this boat and will post vids when finished...........i can also post the data charts that the 200a Ice provides, for those interested in what the 2028 is "doing" while loaded up. If it gets squirrely at higher speeds i will simply prop down and keep it tame.(and cool)

Did you traded your mod Zenoah for the 2028 yet?

If you go strickly on hp that is the same as rcmk's 52cc twin inline engine??? One electric motor equals 2 zenoah style hooked together in line fully modded in hp, well I am open to learning but want to see this one!!!!

I'll take the twin inline fully modded with tuned pipes in this matchup for speed. The video u posted is no where near 65 mph +. Where is the pop corn!

I also know that hull very well and don't think it will like 65+ either. 55-60 is about all it will handle. It has buttloads of lift in the bottom and will get too squirrelly.
I will have to agree with your last paragraph. I'm thinking seriously about pulling the 2028 out of the Arapaho and replacing it with a Leopard 5692 to detune it and get WOT speeds down to a more manageable level. It's a scary boat at high speeds. It handles comfortably in the low 50;s and the Leopard should do that.
Then I can drop the 2028 into my 47" DF type clone and probably hit 70 with it.

Gotta run... heading out for the FE Nats again in about 1/2 an hour.

Remember it takes 2 inline fully modded to make "10hp" like the 2028 so no have not done that. I am building a twin 57cc zenoah this winter for a 65" MTI I have though. Side by side approach not inline. Hope to have a nice large hull to play with.

Final piece came in.........the 4" setback rudder with dual pickups. The 4" is perfect for the speedmaster 1/4" strut.

Now for the tough part...........drilling transom holes. The 'hardest' one is the stuffing tube hole for the driveline............gotta get it just right..........and you got one shot! Makin' my own motor mount for this one as well.

The problem with these hulls Cobra gtx or whatever he calls em nowadays is they just wont handle high speeds, anything over 50 and it will become very unstable. As some have said his hulls are renowned for having hooks in them which will just multiply the problems the faster you try to push it.My advice would be if you want something to go 65-70 and not have to do a ton of blueprinting choose a hull capable of doing it,just my opinion.
                Hulls i think would work
                Sigma51
                Razor
                Lazor
                all proven
there are others of course just giving you some examples i know have gone over 65 without problems, plus my 57 Arrow has done 65 with a single 28 zen.The hull must be true with minimal hook or you will have a problem.
                Good luck though.
                Mart
ps out of interest what does she weigh bare hull?,glass looks very shiny inside which to me says its a heavy resin content.

Thanks martno, 10s2p will be the voltage, so i'll just play with prop selection for desired speed if it gets out of hand...............i'll find out for sure as i like to push the limits to see what she'll do.......then back off a notch if it gets squirrely. Already have a bunch of 50-65mm props in the prather and octura line.

Huge maxed out speed is really not the primary goal..............but i would like it to be fairly fast and run cool as i have 11,600 mah on hand for decent runtime.

Havent weighed her yet..........will do here when i get a chance.

Got a bit of mount work done this evening..............made it out of aluminum stock from the Hardware store. Still need to drill some holes for the plate to secure to the brackets, and brackets to the stringers.........got all stainless steel bolts. The 2028 looks like a 380L in there...............

The mount was a bit tough and time consuming, came out ok in my opinion. The stuffing tube support is not installed yet in the pic.

                          Just pluggin' away.
