It may have been. IMO it was more trouble than it was worth. On top of that, at that time this boat was going to be brushless. Now it is going to be a brushed sport boat. What it boils down to really....I like it & thats the most important thing :). Besides if I become unhappy with it..well there is the dremel :D.

I made some good progress this evening. I have one more night to build before out off week. I got the water cooling & steering done. I cut a gundert pick up in half and added some extentions to make them easer to work with. I used male bulkhead fittings for outlets. I liked the way the tub extentions looked. I also got the top of the transom extention painted. The match isent perfect but close enough. I will have the esc, motor, tabs & turn fins delivered this comming week. If I get a nice day weekend after next I will test.

looks like overkill on your water pick ups but it should definitely stay cool
The Manx has been sitting dormant, but I think I finally have my motivation back. I hope to see it float soon.

I am going with the Velinon system in this boat. Gears and ujoins are cheap enough. On 2-s I will get 25900 unloaded. I will order the system after the holidays :).

Thats just great stuff SJFE! Awesome pick for a sport runner in my opinion. Shouldnt give ya any grief with that strong setup either.

I got back to work this evening. By the time I got the desk cleaned off and organized I was beat. So I just got the turn fins on before calling it a night. Tomorrow night I'll epoxy the steering guid tube, turn fin bolts and drill out the antenna mount. That will be it untill I can aford the power system.

I got the test power system installed tonight. I spooled it up on 4s and was quite impressed. If it runs half as good as it sounded I'll be happy. I pulled out the receiver mount and relocated it. The turn fins also came back off. For some reason the where towed in and I couldent get a good enough bend in them to fix the problem. Time to pack it in for the night. Nothing good comes of me working when I'm tired...lol

Boats preped and ready for testing. I will be running it on 12 Nimh gp3300s to be exact. The 4-s packs just dont fit. When I have the powersystem in it I plan on running I will be on 2&3-s. It will be a much better fit. I will post the test thread along with video tomorrow night.
