you would need a good amount of volts to get them running decent rpms

Ok I decided to take more out of this hull to clean it up some
the stock 60amp esc that came in this boat, I'm going to use in the 16.5" JAE Rigger

took the tray out.. now I need a sweet looking servo mount

Just notch out the stringer and mount the servo. It looks like your rudder push rod will line right up.

next.. what do I do about building up the stringer, as the stringer was cut to fit the plastic motor mount from Thundertiger??

Brushless, Did you think about moving the motor to the back and putting your batteries forward. Could make a sweet layout. Worth a try. The stuffing tube looks like it would be easy enough to remove.

I honestly don't have a clue without ever touching that hull. I am waiting on a HK Vanquish then I will know better, I think they are very close to the same hull.

Try moving the motor back far enough and keep it low enough that you can still make a smooth gradual bend in the stuffing tube. I would move as far back as you can but make sure to leave plenty of room to loosen the coupler.

Make a nice battery tray between the stringers for 6S 2P. Try to mock it up and see how the COG works out. I would make sure that you can always get 27% to 33% just by sliding the batteries forward. That way you have your ass covered for all different running conditions. Nice and loose or choppy water.

I do like the battery tray in the hull you are getting.. lots of room for big batteries and slots for velcro straps

I will gut that hull when I get it. I plan on using 4" stringers in it. It will help keep the bottom of the hull from flexing. You should be able to fit a nice plate between your stringers and run 6S 2P. I wish I had some pics of my old DF layout. I am building another one though, I should have it back together in a couple of weeks.

I like the idea of using the batteries to adjust the CG.My DF 35" has the motor up forward and I have to run split packs.It has like no freeboard though.Do you think an 180 will keep up?

Motor as far back as you can get it and still easily get to the collet. Batteries front and center.

yes, a few have run the T180 with great results...
but... I want to run 8s on this once and a while, so I'll need a different esc for that
