    Miss Breakaway HPR06

hey all. my name is Tim and i am starting a catamaran build, an HPR06. It will be a twin drive hull. I am using 2 Lehner 1940/8 hi amp motors, 2 YGE 155 navy ESCs, and hopefully a 4s2p battery set up per motor (going to be a tight fit). batteries are hyperion 4s/35c wtih a 4200Mah. The hull is gorgeous, its the glass/carbon/carbon model. its taken quite some time to get the pieces together but i feel i am getting close. a big thanks to those who helped me when i had questions-espically serge, graill, and sailr! so far i have attached the rudder, the water cooling inlets, and the outdrives. im in the process of letting the flex cables cure to the propeller shafts. i used the loctite 648 method oif attaching them.
attached are a couple of photos of the hull and where i am at in the build. so far its been a challenge building it but i feel thats half the fun.

    cheers

Good choice to go with the HPR's. BTW did you reinforce the transom? What are your plans for steering the rudder? Hanspeter does sell the scale pull/pull hydraulic rams. Looking fwd to see this build progress.

i have a 115 too... i only ever ran it twice its collecting dust now i couldnt get it set up properly so ive basically just left it.... gotta get it running@@@@@@ and... 4s2p per motor or 4s2p for the complete boat? i can fit 6s1p in each side no problem...

missclicked a link and ended up on here then seen this at the top...

ALSO: i have the same water cooling in method as you, curved pipe, it didn't work for me ... i had bad luck with this boat

westbeach- yes i did reinforce the transom with some 2.5mm thick CF plates. i also purchased all the goodies that hanspeter makes/sells so i have his steering rams. that is actually next to do on the build for me. the one thing i might change/modify is his forward bulkhead. might just go with a CF beam across the top of the tunnel. there is actually a kit that has the bracing done that way. i also have hanspeters motor mounts. i will use them but also want to support the rear of the motor as well. running x442 props- they were balanced/sharped by chuck (egneg). does super nice work

vvviivvv- sorry to hear about your HPR. gerwin brommer might be able to shed some light on a fix for you. also i am going to try to use 4s2p per motor. a bit of a tight fit. if it doesnt work like you said a 6s battery fits pretty easily on each side of the tunnel

oh yeah goals of the boat....hoping for 60 mph and around 3-4 minutes of run time. i hope im on target for both. im also going for a "scale look" but using my own sponsors so not quite scale

                Tim.

                1940/8 on 4s and x442 will not bring you to 60 mls/h.
You'll need at least 5S to reach that speed.

small update. got the steering rams in and epoxied the servo mount in place. i also have mocked up the motor mounts, just need to expoxy them now. the stuffing tubes are just a basic guide to help align the motor mounts. i still need to anneal them and give them a slight bend. im also going to reinforce the motor mounts with some 1 inchwide strips of carbon fiber cloth. i also want to make a support for the rear of the motor.
