Ryan, I'm planning on doing mine with lexan. Wood on the bottom with studs coming up between the lipo's (10s2p) and Lexan covering on top with washers and cap nuts on top. I bought the other 41" DF from Mike on RRR. Came in yesterday. Now I have to wait for the hatch to come in from DF Hong Kong. This one is my 3yr old's favorite boat. She absolutely loves it. Setup is Neu 2215/2y , Schulze 40/160, 10s2p. I hope the battery trick helps you out.

Good idea. I saw that you bought that guy. I do like the motor mounted forward idea. I have 2 5s packs in front of the motor, and 1 4s to each side of the motor. Those 2 may be a little harder to figure a secure mount. How long do ya think till that hatch shows up?

Geeez have I got some luck. Overall a decent day of boating. Out on the lake at my sister's house today on the pontoon boat. Brought the DF 39 and my toolbox just in case. Wanted the wife to get some action pics of the boat. Had 4 of us on the pontoon. Launched her. Did about 4 laps, then stoppped out of nowhere. Drove the boat over and scooped it up. Lost the prop. My trusty x455. Guess the nut decided to spin off. Haven't checked it in a while, so it was my own fault. The only othe biggish prop I had on hand was a x648. Surprisingly it did pretty good. I was still running in the upper 50's according to gps. The wife was having probs getting good pics. I was making some close passes to the boat at about 25-30 mph. I said aw hell, gimme the camera. I got 4-5 good shots, and then tragedy struck. I almost dropped the cam, and instinctively grabbed for it, bumped the wheel and it slammed a pontoon. Only hit at 15 mphish. It bounced off straight back. Pulled it in with an oar. The boat only had some light gelcoat scuffs right on her nose. Then I saw it. It puched a 1.5 inch dia. hole in the freaking pontoon! UNREAL. Never would have thought it possible! Geeeez. Right in the front of the pontoon. Drove the pontoon back in and patched the hull with trusty OSE hockeytape of all things. It worked awesome for a temp fix! Soo, we headed bak out. I wanted to finish off my packs. I ran it behind and alongside the pontoon while we were underway. That was a ton of fun! I got nearly 20 minutes of runtime with that x648! Must have been pulling hardly any amps! Jumping the boat wake and running next to the boat was too much fun, so I ran right to the lvc.Last edited by Rumdog; 07-17-2010, 12:35 AM.

Nicely demonstrated btw. =)FighterCatRacing Team CHING BLING - Ching Bling. Brilliant, Advanced Sparkle for your hull.

I'd bet at WOT, I could go in 1 side of the toon, and out the other! LOL. Good runs out on the boat today. Ran another small prop. X452. More speed than the X648, and still 15 plus minutes runtime=AWESOME fun! Love letting her rip 4-5" chop! CG has been right around 29-30 percent with the inside tabs adjusted just a tad down. Going to level out the tabs for next run. The try moving the cg back to around 28 percent. Gonna work on my X457 tomorrow. Ah joy. Usually, I do most of them at work, since I have access to any kind of file imaginable, high speed pnuematic hand grinders, plus I can polish them if I want. But I've actually been really busy there lately. May buy up a Prather prop for more pitch, and try out a 3 blade Octura as well. I am really pleased with the speed/runtime I have been getting with this setup. Best part is the Swordfish is running flawlessly now!Last edited by Rumdog; 07-18-2010, 12:52 PM.
