Well, got lots of work done tonight. I do believe that I'll get a run in tomorrow! Gonna put the Swordfish hv 240 to work. Hopefully it is up to the task. 9s2p, amp draw should be relatively low. No cooling can on the motor yet, so 1 min. then in to check temps. I will throw the gps in just for giggles too. EXCITEMENT!!

Alright! Maiden was a success! Ran the x455. Temps were all good, even with lots of on/off throttle. Didn't get the best idea for speed since it was windy today, lots of chop. However, it runs great in the chop! Turning left and right was excellent at mid speed. Didn't get more than about 2 seconds of wot at a time because of the chop. It may have handled it, but it was too SCARY! The 2215 ran very cool without a jacket. The little fan, plus the light load on it and it didn't even break a sweat. GPS said 59mph, and I'm sure there is a lot more to go on some smoother water. Running again tomorrow, going to s@b my x457 for the weekend!! I did have about a teaspoon of water in the hull, so I've gotta sort that out. The Swordfish has excellent throttle control it seems. So far, so good.

Thanks. I've got high hopes for this boat! The sprintcat is shelved for now. I'll prob get her up and ripping again in a few months. Not sure what the new setup will be just yet.. I'm also considering one of it's big brothers. Maybe the .90

Big monos are FUN! Big roost and big wake! Just got to wait for my cowl locks to come in before I let her rip in the chop again. If it would have rolled when it was rihauling, I'd bet I would have lost the hatch. Don't wanna deal with that.

Seems my Swordfish 240 has taken a dump. Not happy. 2 laps into a run, it just quit. Waited for the boat to drift in, about 5 mins. Checking it out, ...no smoke, no fire, connectors were cool, esc was HOT! I don't get it. Now, when I hookup, I get nothin, no beeps, no power.

Do you use a spark supressor?

                            What was your timing setting?

No supressor.I soldered each lead together.pos. to pos. neg. to neg just to be safe in case they weren't wired togethe on the board for paralleled sake. Timing set at "medium" Which I believe is 15 degrees. Not sure why it got hot and quit. Just depressing with an expensive setup. Makes me want to get back into RTR's. Seriously, half the dough and just as much fun.Why spend over a grand on a bigger boat that may run good, when you can spend 400 bucks on proven tech that will put a big smile on my face? I feel really irritated. Sorry.
