Im a bit confused... I got my boat from HC, its states it has a 105A ESC. Where did you get yours from Alfa? Or is the 105 a typo and its a 125?Originally posted by Alfa Spirit View PostHere is it
Genesis Offshore Brushless RC Twin Hull
A fiberglass hull perfectly finished and weighted as well as a powerful 105A brushless power system make this a seriously fast R/C boat.
Spec.
Length: 1045mm
Width: 245mm
Height: 115mm
Weight : 2.5kg
Motor: 36-74Size 2075kv Watercooled Brushless Inrunner
ESC: 105A watercooled
Drive system: 4mm
I still refuse to put it on 4S w/ all the "poofs" Ive heard about. I ran mine yesterday on an Etti 150 and some junk Reedy 20C lipos and ran 37mph on 4S. I know its got more I still cant get the set up right to keep it from bouncing. Also it seems the strut needs to go higher and its as high as it can go w/out lengthening the strut adjustment slot. So thats next. Its not winding out at all and hardly had a roost on 4s. Also came in pretty warm after about 3 minutes of run time. The 3S set up had a very small roost, but the boat bounced a lot so it varied from nothing to very tall. I will get it sorted out within the next couple days.

The Tech Specs in the manual say 125a ESC. Looks exact same as the Apparition. I think it is a typo on the HK website.
4s on 2075kv is only about 30k, maybe smaller prop?
Have you tried lowering the strut? Seemed to do the trick on the Apparition.

Ive lowered and lowerd and its only got worse. Also, as I said above, it seems it need to go higher as the prop is waaay to loaded. Also yes, its only about 30K... but its also about 120A.Originally posted by FighterCat57 View PostThe Tech Specs in the manual say 125a ESC. Looks exact same as the Apparition. Awesome, thanks. I will go check it out. Still kinda weary though. 4S on a 8Xl running a 442 is almost 120A. I think its just asking for smoke on a 125A controller. I will leave the stock ESC for 3S running boats. Im going to try out a 180A Turnigy. Maybe then I can turn the prop needed for this hull....Originally posted by Alfa Spirit View PostStock ESC is a Mystery, you can find manuals on HiModel website
Stock prop is a 40mm and temps are already 120s. No way this boat stock would last on a prop higher than 45mm. I doubt even 42. Unless you were refering to Bens build, then yes..Originally posted by Rumdog View PostMake sure you run at least a .187 flex cable! For props, I wouldn't start any smaller than 45mm. That will probably end up being too small as well. You'll want enough prop to load the motor so it can make power.
I think a 45 would push it very welll or even a tad larger for the size hull.
