I'm watching too! I'm building a similar sized cat as well, just waiting on time to work on it!

I usually bust a big move on the main part of the hull and then it slows down when it is time to outfit it I just have to buy some esc's and a couple of batteries (lipo 3s) and I will be good to go I have paint and stuff so it is a matter of just doing it all (after I am done with the rudder package) then dust will be a flyin My rudder is 2" long and 3/4" wide (roughed out) it may skinny up a bit after the final finishing touches have been applied.
I know you guys have seen what looks like amilling Machine in the back ground but that is a $120.00 drill press from Home Depot with a $75.00 cross feed vice on it from sears what a difference and worth the price this is the fourth rudder system I have made and the first two were mostly done by hand (YUCK) this is way faster but the parts are priceless after I finish them as they will all be polished and purdy.

Ok I have been fitting my base plate on the back of my standoff box and that makes for some boring pictures so I will spare you the pain of looking at them, but through all of this I did figure out how to get the holes all to line up correctly!! it only took making the boat 4 times, What you do is mark out where the base plate goes then using a small "C" clamp clamp the plate into position and using the holes for a guide drill away, I have tried marking the holes using the base plate 3 different times now and each time the drill bit walked to a slightly different location and it was a sharp bit as well. so I have come up with the clamping of the base plate idea which should take care of that problem (short of removing the back of the stand off box and trying again)

Well I worked on the rudder parts more today I started filing the wedge shape to the rudder blade messed up the first one trying to use the Mill so I made a new one. I laso sanded the foam shapes on the Hatch they still look funkey but this is where you have to have some vision.

I know it doesn't look like too much but it is forward progress.

                              Rudder

Ok I have finished the Rudder Hardware it just needs the final touches polishing

I know it isn't a lot but I did have to rebuild my stand off box as I muffed up the holes for the blind nuts. But it is all better now and moving forward from here.
