Just started my Raptor Rigger build. I built a jig to hold everything strait and square. The basswood 3/32" x 1" ride pads were added to the first generation wooden sponsons. I purchased and cut a single 4 foot piece of 3/8" carbon tubing to make inside spread of sponsons wider @14"(1/16" toe in). Booms will be bolted to tub, but they will be adjustable for testing. First off sponsons will be set slightly wetter than Brians recomended setting.

Thanks Darin,
I plan on mounting my motor a little different than most. I will use OSE's aluminum mount epoxied to hull floor. That way any wiring or tubing can run along side of tub without mount interfering. I will purchase the "Flat" No bend version, so I can bend it how I want it.

Only problem with this is that the motor mount adds rigidity to the center of the hull... I have the plate style, but I trimmed down the top and sides to wires go right over it.Originally posted by detox View PostThanks Darin,

I know what you are saying, but I will add a piece of 6mm carbon fiber plate between the servo/reciever compartment and the motor /esc compartment. I think raptor347 has started doing this on his builds, but he uses plywood. Taping down the hatch also adds rigidity.Originally posted by Darin Jordan View PostOnly problem with this is that the motor mount adds rigidity to the center of the hull... ...my mind is still on my UL-1 Superior. I'm hoping to run the Raptor Rigger in P-Spec Hydro class.
