Back on topic, when you put all your pieces back together, are you using most of the original parts or fabricating new ones.

Now that looks like some fun.

Going to use the original cut outs .
Glued in with 2 part epoxy glue .
And the join filled with car bog.

A couple of coats of 2 pak primer , 2 coats top coat ,decals, 2 coats clear.
Very good paint system, strong.
I did the Simrad cat the same way
And still not a scratch.
I've put that cat throw hell.

If you could add the reinforcing spars without cutting the skin you would gain a lot more strength.

The 2pak primer, that bonds well to the existing prepped gelcoat, or are you stripping the gel off?

There's not much room to work in these Maritimo's.
And with the structural piece of carbon fiber and close cell foam added to the hull
it is about twice as strong as the original hull.
Once ever thing is back in its place i will have an almost bullet prof hull.
Just like my Simrad cat.

The paint system i'm using is very tough.
the primer sticks very well to the sanded gel coat.
I used the same paint on the Simrad cat
and it has survived some serious high speed crashes.
With out a scratch.

i took the pictures of the cat today.
In the last couple of pic's you can see how i've kept the rudders and the drives on both cats at about the same distance from the transom.
It has worked very well for the Simrad .
Same for the M12.

Paint update

Finally got some primer on the hull.

She's starting to look good.

The chime that i added to the hull has changed the look
of the sides , Looks more like the real thing now.

Also finished up the strut rudder set up.
It has turn out real nice and strong.
There is 6mm adjustment in all directions for the strut.
I'm going to start with the strut 3mm under the spoonson
with a little negitive angle.

Now to make the servo , gyro , receiver mount.
Hybrid blue/black carbon fiber of course!!!

Update

Been out of town with work !!

Back now !!

Priority number 1 is 2 finish this cat.

This week it will see top coat.

I'm waiting on a Jeff Wohlt special shaft. It's in the mail.

I've made myself some Carbon/Kevlar (blue/black) plate 4mm thick.
It will be used for the servo mounts and the gyro mount.
Also the top access hatches.

Update with pic's very soon.

Bonewar, i went to that sight for the carbon coolers but dont understand the sight it says something like $50.00(AU)10.00 what does it mean and it says fits faigeo, hacker etc xl ,,,, i want one for my faigeo 9 XL i have ordered but dont no wich one and trully how much for it... can you help me.PS the build is going alsume man, art takes time...
