Chuckc, somebody announced a FG hull quite some time ago so there is one out there. You bring your wooden boat and I'll knock your socks off with my FG hull. How's that. I DO race but would rather concentrate on racing than building. To each his own. Oh, and a FG hull is a lot easier to repair when we start rubbing gunnels.Mini Cat Racing USA

When we used to race the small CBoxes, the plastic hulls had a real advantage over the wooden hulls. The wood hulls flipped much easier, and in heats with six boats, half wood and half plastic, more plastics would finish than wood. How can that be you ask - after all wood is lighter and has sharper edges. All we could figure was that the sharper chines on the wood boats caught the water harder and caused flips. For a winning edge, the champs drove plastic CBoxes....

Did anyone try to round off the edges a bit on the wood hulls to see if it made any difference and changed the handeling issues.Originally posted by Fluid View PostWhen we used to race the small CBoxes, the plastic hulls had a real advantage over the wooden hulls.
